Ouch. I thought he was going with Vrabel to the Patriot rebuild? Tommy has wound up with some good gigs till now, but I feel like this one could end up hurting his career. Cleveland has no QB, they're overpaying greatly for the one they have, offense is basically in a rebuild...on the plus side they finally get a 1st round pick again after they wasted their last 3, and it's the second pick...but they'll probably blow it.

Too bad there is zero qb talent in this class

Not being much of an NFL fan I hadn’t realized how dire things were with Watson in Cleveland. He’s done and they still owe him a pile?

Unfortunately there’s no QB worth drafting that high this year. They should probably roll with Winston or Flacco or someone like that. At least Rees has a lot of experience working with suboptimal quarterbacks.

Still, hard to think he wouldn’t have been better off in New England. Maybe that wasn’t an option?

man good luck with that Cleveland roster on offense
Basically all comes down to the QB position. Flacco made it look great last year with mostly the same surrounding cast. Winston this year was putting up stats too, he's just a turnover machine.

Tommy was able to take his limited talent and make himself an adequate QB so maybe with greater talent at his disposal he can do something good. Browns are used to losing so if they do better than this year that should be the goal. They do need some stability at the position but Watson should get one more shot at this otherwise can his sorry skumbag ass (Watson not Tommy). I do think Tommy owes Kelly as Rees was never good enough to start at ND.

My uncle is a Brown fan so I have a soft spot for them. I sincerely hope that they can get out of the worst deal ever completed. Frees up so much capital for them and the ability to reinvest.

We had insurance on his contract for this season so we should get about $40 million in relief.

There was also some speculation that the org could void his whole deal if they have proof he was doing something he shouldn’t have been doing when he reinjured it. Seems like message board chatter though.

If you’re gonna turn it on as a kicker now is the time to do it. Lights are shining on him.

Nah. They deserve to suffer the consequences of that deal.

It's the only way people learn.

I'm not sure that organization is capable of learning. They didn't learn after the OBJ deal, then they pulled a worse one for Watson.
