Michigan added a center (from Virginia), backup DT (we looked at and chose Smith), and DE.

Where are all these enviable B1G schools adding 6 - 8 guys? Michigan St and Indiana?

I agree on the guys that are hungry part. I think guaranteeing money to a 17 year old is going to spell disaster. What seems like a plan to make CJ Carr the undisputed dude for ND is about as risky as making Marcus Freeman our dude for ND. I sure hope we bring in some legit 4-5 star competition for him both this season and in 2025. As we all know, with most five star QBs, nobody remembers their name.

There are so many things wrong with this offense, top to bottom. 99% of which falls on Rees. He needs to simplify everything and let these kids play fast. No one gives a shit how smart Rees is if he can't teach players his offense at a level where they can not only execute, but do so instinctually and fast.

Similar to how he saw the defensive formation on that jet sweep, but Freeman said run the play....We won't know for sure who saw what and why the play wasn't adapted...but if they're going to run that pre-play scan crap every single down to see what the defense is doing, why in the hell aren't they making changes accordingly....that would be my question.

I'm not asking them to. I know they won't, therefore I'm disappointed. People ask why we don't compete with the elite teams in games and for National Championships. The answer is the University of Notre Dame itself.

Alex Golesh and Warren Ruggiero, respectively.

Golesh is an Ohio State grad (2006) and has actually called plays now for the last three years in addition to having been recruiting coordinator at Toledo, Illinois and Iowa State. For me, that puts him in front of the line ahead of Brian Hartline.

I continue to wonder how anyone thinks Tom Herman is a plausible ND hire. It isn't so much whether or not I'm interested in having him on the staff (I am not), but the idea that he'd want to come and they'd want to have him.

Tom Herman and Chris Ash have crashed out of the coaching stratosphere pretty hard. There are buy low hires and Herman is one of them right now.

That's an excuse. 98% of the Football team wouldn't get admitted to Notre Dame without Football. Notre Dame will still be ranked 20-25 academically in the Country, even if they lowered the floor for football admissions. So why not do it.

He's built a pretty explosive and talented group of playmakers around a good college QB. And he's done it at a place that's extremely difficult to win at. And in any case, I think I can trust CMF to pick up the slack if necessary.
