saw about 70% totality up here in NY, it was cool, but i'm having a hard time understanding how some think this thing was sooo amazing.
saw a massive hourlong lightning storm over the ocean in Carolina once, now that was a sight to see.
maybe seeing the eclipse 100% totality was only way to go?
To put it in food terms, a 70% eclipse is like seeing a pizza place across the street and then judging pizza on that basis. 90% is like being just outside the pizza place. 95% is like being in the pizza place and you can smell it. 99% is seeing the pizza. 100% is eating the pizza.
It's just not the same experience. I've seen partials before, totality was different. The jump from 99.6% to 100% is massive. I know a guy who was at 99.6% at his office, and his experience was completely disjointed from mine.
