Only three teams have lower payrolls. They weren't even trying to win.

I'm glad they punked the White Sox. The White Sox deserved it.
Yeah, the owners (Dolans) are cheaper than a $5 hooker. But they usually have a solid starting rotation and this young talent is not playing afraid. Love some of the veteran leadership in the dugout. Ramirez is Ramirez and I love this Steven Kwan kid. They both play like their hair is on fire.

It is amazing that their low payroll is equating to so much success. Also helps that we are in a weak division but anyone has a chance in a 5 or 7 game series. We may be a tough out.

Watch out for the “Baby Backs” in a year or two. Zac Gallen was dealing last night & their lineup is loaded w/ speedy athletes.
Agreed. living in Western, PA, I only get Bucco games and not my Guardians. Ive had the opportunity to watch most Pirate games and you are correct, the Backs are a fun and energetic team to watch. Bright futures for both.

They don't spend money but don't endure prolonged rebuilds either. Cleveland, Oakland and Tampa are such fascinating models.

It is a weak division, and both Centrals are not very strong, but as you said....just get in and the sample size shrinks to October. Unless you're the Twins.

The White Sox need torn down. To the studs.

All of this. Not sure how some of these "smaller" market teams are competitive every year. Like ND football, the Cleveland fanbase has been calling for the owners' heads all year (AD, HC, and OC for ND). But for what they have done so far, I am thoroughly enjoying all of these so called Guardian fans jumping back on the bandwagon, even after trashing the team and its farm system. Alot of the players brought up recently were part of the sweep of the Sox this week and that is what I am most happy about. Young men coming in and contributing with all kinds of pressure on them with a tight Division race at stake.

I just picked up a $5 hooker.....debating on whether or not I should drop her off at the next block....well, at least I think it's a her. 🙄

To their credit, they stepped up and took it even if the White Sox and Twins seemingly layed down and died. The Twins tapped out sooner than the White Sox did, and I've always liked Cleveland post late 90s when they started the Sabermetric movement. I can't stand the Twins and Tigers.

The Royals finally dumping Dayton Moore is going to be interesting. This front office hire could be big for the division in the long run.

With prices what they are,… I’m legit fine with him keeping it to max his intake. Do it like any player or owner would

Getting tired of everyone walking Judge. Four walks last night against Toronto. Even their fans were booing.

It's so stupid.

I can't tell you the pitchers that gave up home runs to Bonds without looking it up. Nobody cares. You become a triva question that hardly anyone is going to know the answer to. Just pitch to the guy.

I guess if predictions were always correct there would be no point.

I am mostly happy for the Guardians because I hope what they've done inspires some kind of change from the White Sox organization, but I think sports has come to a point in 2022 that teams can't just win and succeed anymore. There is an overwhelming "us against the world" attitude and "we shocked the world" vibe that I'm not sure is reality outside of these respective clubhouses and locker rooms.

Just be happy you won. There is no belief or respect bias. Remove the emotion from the fact that you were underestimated back in March. It wasn't personal and congrats on proving people wrong, but is that really what is always has to be about now?

That said, dunking on the White Sox was awesome and this is a good read.

JUDGE!

Congrats on tying Roger Maris. His swing is so smooth and consistent. Especially for such a large dude. Quirky coincidence that Maris hit 39 the year before he hit 61 and Judge hit 39 last year.

Great sweep by my Braves over the Mets. 100 wins and a 2 game lead in the East.
