If Giancarlo was 32 and had a ring, I 100% understand. Probably even agree. But a 28 year old who has won nothing, and says he wants to win, kicking it in San Francisco makes little sense.

Cardinals acquiring Stanton makes the most sense in every facet of the trade except Stanton’s rumored lifestyle preference.

Dudes worth $200M and a Cali kid. If they won't trade him to the Doyers, Giants are the next best option. No doubt they have the #1 overall fanbase in all of sports but (and no offense to our STL brothers here) STL is a hole. His life as a Giant would be 7 months in SF, 3 months in Beverly Hills and 2 months in Scottsdale, AZ. Sign me up on that plan.
STL isn't bad, but the clubhouse is always facing whispers of discrimination against players of color. Doesn't surprise me at all that guys stay away.

"STL isn't bad" typed the Cardinal's fan whilst sitting at a trendy taproom in Austin, TX.

Must I put that in italics?

I've paid close attention to the MLB Minor League talent charts because my Mighty White Sox are building back to back to back World Champs from '20-'22 but anyways....

It doesn't appear he screwed ya too badly. The Braves are loaded down at the farm, you could lose half of them and be contenders in a few years. I look forward to beating you a few times in October!

The thing that sucks is he got all these guys to get offensive players and most of the traded players brought back pitching. So we are almost in the same boat that they fired Frank Wren for.

Hopefully some that pitching actually lives up to the hype of not oh boy.

There are also talking about no international spending in this next cycle.

We're far better off than that. It's just that we lost four really talented international players though they are very young. Good news is future superstar Ronald Acuna was MVP of the Arizona Fall League and lefty Max Fried was dominant there. Braves have so much pitching talent in the system it's going to be a battle for spots in the spring.

Acuna i have feeling is going to be a special one.

I think Albies, Freeman, Ender will be productive players

I hope Julio finds his rhythm because he has been slacking the last 2 seasons.

Yikes, get the why but that freakin sucks for loyal Braves fans... anyhow, seeing that the Halos farm is straight out of Grapes of Wrath can we get half those dudes since we followed the rules??,

I went over to the park and caught BP and the first three innings before the Navy game. Acuna tied it up at 2 as i was leaving. A whole lot of talent in that system.

Bummed the AFL is over. $85 for a season pass or just $7 per game , games 6 nights a week for 5-6 weeks and 3 of the parks are within 15 min from the house in Scottsdale. Only downside this year is the White Sox didn't share any of their talent with the league.

If you follow your team's farm system, love going to the park and like to golf, the AFL is a great fall get away/bachelor party trip. Golf all day, baseball at night and walk out of Scottsdale Stadium or the Cubs park and hit the bars. It's like the Field of Dreams with strippers.

It is a magical place during Fall League and Spring Training.

...and January with Barrett Jackson, the Phoenix Open and depending on the match up, the Fiesta Bowl. (Both teams and the majority of their fans stay in Scottsdale)

So where does Shohei Ohtani land?

If not us then I hope he goes to San Diego... that city deserves better than the sports hand they've been dealt lately.

FTFY

I could definitely see San Diego being the city. They have put in the infrastructure for Japanese players to come in and succeed.

I agree they deserve better too.

Why would he come all the way here just to play minor league baseball in a shit hole stadium???

;)

That's what I'm saying! A place that was built 50 years ago with a fake waterfall? No stadium for a star...

Trout>> Griffey

I'm dead serious. I used to say KGjr was the best I personally ever saw... I don't say that anymore.

BTW I loved the old Angel Stadium in your gif... grew up in that place man. I was basically the kid from Angels in the Outfield, poor white trash just trying to make a few Angel games a year.

I wish I lived closer to a stadium so I could have went as a kid more. Only saw like 4 professional baseball games growing up, 3 of them were minor leagues.

That sucks, we had a minor league BBall team in town (they just closed up shop last season actually) and I was only about 45 minutes or so from Angel Stadium....

I actually saw KGjr play in the minors, remember it well. I was like 8 years old or so and my parents took me to old ass Spirit Field in Down Town San Bernardino (it was literally like a big high school stadium with crappy old ass bleachers, it's still there but just used now for little league and softball). My dad was telling about how this kid was going to be Babe Ruth and this and that... he hit a home run, I remember that much.

Side: across the street from Spirit Field is a place called, "The Mexico"... best Cadillac Margaritas I've ever had.. HUGE margaritas.

That's fitting your dad saying as much only for The Kid to fulfill the scripture haha

I will say, growing up about 45 minutes from Berwick, PA I did get to meet Ron Powlus numerous times as a kid. Went to his HS coach and dad's QB camp growing up. Met Bo Orlando once there too.
