Here's one from the Texas board. Apparently Ted Cruz has a really bad record when attending games, and as we know Aggies are 1-9 when GameDay is in town.

If Gameday and Ted Cruz would just leave us the fuck alone, we could quietly go 7-5 on ESPNU and the SEC Network like God intended.

Holy shit, this is an actual campaign ad!

Thanks, Ted

Leonard had dad from a perfect game, but if it were Jack Coan out there tonight he would have been hacked at least 5 times.

Loved all of it last night.

More breakdown to come, but if you check out A&M’s schedule:

They’re likely to win the next 4
Hardest games remaining:
10/5 Home vs Missouri
10/26 Home vs LSU
11/30 Home vs Texas

OOC - McNeese St, Bowling Green, New Mexico State, and ND. Classic SEC

Away games - At Florida (who looks like trash and did you guys see the player on X who took a selfie in locker room flipping the bird saying eff this team?!)
- At Miss St. Who will be battling with Vandy for last place
- At South Carolina. 23-19 winners against Old Dominion yesterday needing a TD in the last 5 minutes
- At Auburn. With over half (9) the new look SEC ranked, they play 4 of the 7 remaining unranked as their road games, and likely 3 of the 4 bottom conference teams.

All the above to say, as much as I love to shit on Texas8&4, that’s their floor this year. It’d help ND if they went 9 and 3, maybe a little BK upset would be the best possible outcome haha

Morning after thoughts:
  • I LOVE Marcus Freeman, the man
  • I want to believe that he's THE guy as HC. Still not always sold, but I really hope he is
  • I love that he clearly loves ND and loves being the HC of ND. Give me a guy like that over a guy who thinks ND is lucky to have him
  • Winning ugly is still winning. Winning is hard. There's lots to fix but I'd rather be fixing it after a W
  • Go Irish!

  • 100 yds in penalties, youngest OL we've ever seen
  • Best DL in college, hostile environment
  • Momentum shifted to the 12th man when they tied the score
  • ND calmly executes their best drive all night and the defense puts a dagger in their heart
  • MARCUS FREEMAN was a bold coach and it paid off for him. Kids should want to play for a guy like that. It felt like he pulled the right strings tonight and he looked more comfortable doing it. He earned some more appreciation from the fan base.

Obviously there were negatives but it was a nice mixed bag win. The OL needs to continue to grow and mature, can't let guys come through untouched. We need to see our passing game take some big steps over the next few weeks. I hope Faison is okay because he was going to be a big part of our passing game (looks like a potentially bad high ankle sprain?). Stop the penalties, 10 penalties and 100 yds gifted can't be the standard.

All of the LBs played, I think, and they all looked good in live action. I hope the re-watch shows the same thing. Somebody set the game up with the secondary on God-mode. Shuler looks so legit. Heard got in on the action. Clark even had good coverage on Weigmann's best pass of the night. Christian Gray is a flat out stud. Watts continuing where he left off. BMo just locking guys down.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here but he single handedly:
-Blew a protection so Leonard got hit when he could've dumped the ball off to Price for a TD
-Blew another protection that killed a drive
-Got beat horribly bad on two other plays to blow them up
-Had a key false start in the second half that helped kill a drive

That's off the top of my head, I dunno if it's actually correct, but it's what I remember from the live watch.
I thought he had a lot of mental errors compared to Knapp. Sometimes Knapp was beat just because he was going against monsters

Defense was great, especially in coverage. Only thing I saw that future opponents may be able to exploit is the DT play. Cross and Mills were out as much as they were in and Hinish and Onye (especially Onye) are clearly not as good as Cross and Mills. They need to be out there 65% of the snaps or more vs a good team. Even with them we lack the hefty run plugger in the middle that discourages inside run plays.

LB play can compensate if we choose to go that route. Bowen looks like run stuffer deluxe at ILB.
