I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here but he single handedly:
-Blew a protection so Leonard got hit when he could've dumped the ball off to Price for a TD
-Blew another protection that killed a drive
-Got beat horribly bad on two other plays to blow them up
-Had a key false start in the second half that helped kill a drive

That's off the top of my head, I dunno if it's actually correct, but it's what I remember from the live watch.
That is accurate. Dude is big quick footed and moved people when he got hand on him. Tons of room to improve but he aint land locked like the two of the other options

# 7 ND just beat #20 Texas AM on the road.

NDs Defense played great. They deserve a better offense.

Leonard is run first, maybe run 2nd but decent when needed to throw and a big upgrade over Sam Hartman.

First game. New QB, new WRs, New OL… I’m happy. First game is always rough.

11 penalties for 99 yards. Gross.

2-12 on 3rd down. Gross.

0 turnovers, 2 INTs

Beaux Collins stock up

Love stock up.

Price with one of the weirdest days. 47 yard TD, then 7 carries for -3 yards in his other carries.
Price also had a really nice 25+ yard run called back by holding.

Absolutely. Flanigan was pretty awful. It would be nice to have a Davis Sherwood-type this season. Evans will be an upgrade once he’s back, but man Flanigan and to a lesser extent Raridon just are not blockers at this point.
Does Davis Sherwood himself count? if the young TEs struggle in the run game more we could very well see him

Agree, some people are sugarcoating the offensive performance. They need to improve significantly if they're going to contend against elite teams

That's just called the South. 70 years behind us about right.

I'm writing this in Georgia. No one is Beaver Cleaver down here

Agree. Pendleton was objectively pretty bad tonight. Your job is to protect the QB. He allowed the defense to tee off on Leonard at least 4 times.

I haven’t rewatched yet but based off my memory, I remember two specific plays I thought Pendleton looked terrible (mainly the one in the first half where he didn’t even touch his man) but Flanigan had far more whiffs and missed assignments than him.

They both really underperformed a vast majority of the night, but they also both managed to get in somebody’s way on Love’s TD run, so it equals out lol.

Too lazy to read through. Has anyone discussed why Leonard didn’t go down field? Is that bc Leonard can’t make that throw? Receivers can’t get open? Or Denbrock playing conservative?

He’s certainly no Jimmy Clausen. Tim Tebowish.

This was Flannigan blocking:

In retrospect, it was a genius move that might payoff for years.

How about the strength and conditioning?????
Those 330 lb Texas boys were dropping like flies and cramping up.

These are facts

I talked to an S+C coach from Oregon. (that Oregon)

He said he thought Balis was on the Mount Rushmore of S+C

This was last year when that guy said we made a huge mistake. He thought the 'new school' of the whole thing just get kids hurt because they cant possibly individualize it enough.

Maybe he was wrong?

18/30 158 yards. Horrible!
Not sure why all the negative reactions. RL was all over the place for 3.5 quarters and it’s not so much a jab at him but a fact that he only hit a couple passes over 10 yards. It was not a solid game by him through the air.

ND held top-rated QB in draft to 12-30 for 100 yds and 2 picks

Next…
If you think that kid from a&m is a top prospect then you need to watch more football. He was injured all of last year and played minimal time the year before. Just because Herbie says he’s a top prospect doesn’t make it true.

I've showed that image to everyone on my contact list

Nearly none of them care about ND football

I'm going to be absolutely insufferable for the next few weeks

Just read this thread...its GOLD

Best phase of our game was Notre Dame penalties

Gets better in the final minutes of the game:

That's a fortuitous touchdown. Three time outs, 2 minutes on the clock. This is why Klein was hired.
living on a prayer?
really? (This was the beginning of the end for A&M really. You don't play Bon Jovi against the Irish, especially that song!)
2 minute offense with Klein at the helm? YES PLEASE

Maybe it was just the tv audio but I didnt think it was that loud in that stadium. Anyone that was actually there can you follow up? I was just expecting much louder
I thought it was louder than any game I’ve ever been to. I was a bit lower and it really trapped in the noise. That being said, one thing my buddy pointed out is that by consistently going to the yell leaders really kills some of the organic noise. It’s cool, but the overall production team is pretty substandard compared to a Georgia or even ND’s. ND’s production team with that many people and that stadium design would be incredible.
