With this again? It is so tired. After the Virginia game, USC was going to score 3,000 points against us. If this team was 5-3 I could understand this nonsense, but you've lost one game by two points at the last second to a top-3 team on the road in a hurricane. If they haven't been exposed yet, maybe they just aren't going to be exposed as actually as awful as some of you guys think.

Did you watch the game? The last drive was in question until the pick. And they were moving the ball. And didn't USC put up almost 1K yards?

Oh right so they didn't score? And one of our star players stepped and didn't make a great play? Oh. Temple scored and won? Oh.

I thought I missed something.

Man, I'll take the win but just one of many observations... we have one of the weakest screen running teams ever. Why does everyone else make it look so easy? Our OL just doesn't do it in this area.
Looks like indecisiveness to me. Too much dancing. Sometimes if they just hit the hole hard, there is a much bigger play to be had.

And WWII was in question until D-day. What is your point? That they could have played better? Wow, groundbreaking insight. If you want to root for a team that plays their A game every week, go root for that team if you can find it (you can't).

I bet some of the trolls that show up on Gameday are some of the same dudes that are featured on @NDfanComments twitter. Simple pathetic. Do better.

If you're going to start a post game thread, the mods have requested(years ago) that you specify the date (year) in the thread title, so that they can distinguish them in the archives.

Thanks....

1. This team is probably a Top Ten team, but they are far from complete.

2. Having said 1.; Of Notre Dame's 460 yards and 3 TDs, ND's stars, Will Fuller and CJ Prosise combined for 107 yards and 1 TD. In other words, when Temple did effectively take ND's stars out of the game, the offense was still able to get work done and make hay with the supporting cast. Perhaps we *should* revisit Brian Kelly's recruiting, player development, and play calling. DeShone Kizer, Torii Hunter, Jr., and Chris Brown were the key contributors for the game.

3. I would hope that Temple's Defense earned some respect tonight. They were very good. They are disciplined, fast, and cover and tackle very well.

4. Kizer had a great game, but still has some glaring weaknesses. He's still too hesitant, too often, in the pocket when no one is open downfield. Quit trying to hit a home run. Tuck it and take off and get the "guaranteed" 6-7 yards, or throw it into the first row of the stands. But quit holding on to it, or trying to dance around looking for a running lane all the way to the end zone.

5. The Defense was shaky at times, but also played very well at times. Overall, I think they were pretty good. Held Temple to <125 yards rushing, <200 yards passing, and got one HUGE turnover. The talent level of the defense has gotten better every year for the last few years, and I think Kelly will have it worked out pretty soon. The D line is solid. Linebacker is getting better, with Coney, Martini, and Morgan about to take over.

6. Tough, hard nosed win. As bad as they are for my blood pressure; I will take winning these games over the losing them during the Weis years. You have to admit; there is no quit in this team, and there appears to actually be confidence that they will find a way to win the game............... unlike in the live chat.

My game ball was going to go to Kizer, but I just can't overlook his mistakes. He still looks unsure of what to do in the pocket too often. The first INT was just a really terrible mistake on his part. The second INT was just bad bad luck. So I am going to give my game ball to........... the Defensive line. They got good pressure all night long, and helped really limit Temple's running game.

Great post.

The specter of last year hangs over our heads like a horrible nightmare. I had to go to Tempe last week for training. My hotel was literally 2 minutes from Mill Ave. and Sun Devil Stadium. Just seeing that horrible place gave me PTSD. For in the Valley of Sun our season derailed and never recovered.

Comparing Alabama and Tennessee to what Temple gets is not even close. Tennessee would take all the 4 star players that Alabama didn't have room for. Temple takes the 2 star players that have hopes of playing D-1 football instead of playing at Shippensburg or Villanova

My point wasn't solely focused on star ratings. Just look at all the DII teams that beat DI teams. No DII team gets the talent a DI team gets but they can still win. Lately they have won a lot. If a team gets in a groove, is at home, and plays their heart out. Anything can happen. A win is a win, simply look at OSU from last year. I hate them but they won the whole thing even when people felt they shouldn't even be in the playoffs.

I was very dismissive of Temple's defense before this game but they really impressed me. Don't get me wrong, I think ND could and should have played much better, but I haven't seen a team shut down our run game like that since Clemson. Their coaches put together a great plan for us and the Temple players were amped up. This was probably the first time when ND was playing a non-powerhouse team that I told myself I'd be happy as long as we won.

We have to figure out some way to get the inside run game going against more formidable defenses because this is going to keep happening in the rest of our games against Pitt, BC, and Stanford.

Needless to say, I fully expect Temple to shit the bed from here on out, so as to prevent ND from having a quality win.

Also, to reiterate an earlier question on the thread, does anybody know why Rhule came out on the field to yell at Luke?

Less points than ND. At the end of the day isn't that what matters?

Lol I get that your troll game is hard but you're not making a ton of sense.

The last drive was in question until the pick? What does that mean? All drives are in question until a change in possession or points are scored lol. You're not happy because we didn't create a TO on the first play of the drive?

Can someone please PM or post a link to the post game presser? I have searched the Internet too the lengths I know. I have tummy ache from all the stress Eating of Halloween candy and stress beers. I literally almost choked on a Kit Kat on the Fuller TD.

- Red Zone O has to get better.

- Maybe run out of the pistol more? I think Prosise would be more effective with some steam.. I understand that takes away the option but it would be easier to impose our will for once.

- D is full of heart but lacking a pass rush and athleticism at a certain LB position.

- Overall I think we played down to our competition again. I'm concerned about our coaching and "big game" preparation. We don't play very sound football when the lights are the brightest.

I understand what you are saying and the upset is always possible. But knowing that Temple gets the recruits who get NOs from Penn State, Pitt, Maryland, West Virginia, Rutgers and possibly Navy means that ND should not be in a competitive game with them.

This!! Maybe not outside of the red zone, but we have to have quick hitters in the red zone. Teams come down hill naturally near the goal line so we need to have a quick hitter to match.

Again....your right.....I have never said a positive thing about this team or any player that has played for them.

The way you're acting, probably not. Enjoy the win and let the booze wear off until you can be a real arm chair QB tomorrow.

We have 1 linebacker. Period

Joe maybe super smart, but he is not a starting caliber MLB for a team that is suppose to be good. Today shows how unathletic and a poor tackler he is. I don't care what BK and BVG say. It was embarrassing performance by him. He maybe the leader, but he just isn't good. Really like the kid, but watching his piss poor tackling is getting me sick.

Doesn't OSU have a captain who doesn't start, their QB, but we can't do it with a LB.

Since you can so easily project out future performances and overall quality of a team based on any game that they play, at least we should steamroll Stanford who is struggling with juggernaut WSU.

Maybe I'm putting too much into the stigma of what is Temple football. I'm not sold this team is good, especially the offense and to have to count on a 2 minute drive to beat them isn't good.
