Either Hendrix or Massa will start to take Varsity snaps this week.

Crist had surgery today with 6 months of rehab ahead of him.

Carlo's hamstring is doing much better.

I wonder if it will be Massa to preserve some Hendrix eligibility? We need to win, because we are about to get hit by the de-commit bug. Lynch is going to set off a domino effect in our D-Line.

Rabasa's commitment is firm after his visit.

Side note - Rivals analysts said Kelly sounded "disgusted" with the whole verbal commitment bs.

Lynch's decommit is the biggest burn we'll have to withstand considering recruitment. That being said, I felt like he was emotionally unstable a bit. Now I know it's confirmed.

BK's disgust is his own. Time for a gut check BK.

Does this imply that Montana is not a suitable backup? Or do we always want to have three QBs available....(its a question- please elighten me).

I say we run the dirty leprechaun formation for the rest of the year. Let's pound the **** out of the opposing defense play after play.

God I miss bitching about the pro style offense. (Oh wait, I never bitched about it...)

We need to keep some red-shirts this season. It's a lost cause now. WTF?

I think it means with Crist missing 6 months due to rehab, we're going to need viable options with experience.

That is the only thing I didnt like about the BK hire...the spread. I like the pro style offence....and now we are seeing that running the Spread with Pro Style recruits does not work.

Unseasonably warm. 75-ish. Slightly too breezy. What do you know, it's New Mexico. Wind blows way too hard 75% of the time.

How's the boooor-que?

La Cueva is killing it. Damn. I hope CBad doesn't draw them in the play-offs.

Same over here in Albuquerque....

La Cueva has some players...Carlsbad haveing a good year? I dont get why the Lobos dont recruit Carlsbad/Hobbs/Artesia alot more...there are some gems down there.....

Yeah, we have a few good players with the Lobos now. Most notably the leading tackler for the Lobos, Bubba Forrest.

Lost in this Team Update is this snippet:

Armando Allen has torn cartilage in his right and left hip, and is expected to have surgery soon. He is out for the season, which means his collegiate career is finished with 2,144 rushing yards, eight rushing touchdowns, 119 receptions for 833 yards, and three receiving touchdowns. Allen also had a 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against Hawaii.

"We're setting up potential surgery for him," Kelly said. "We dressed him (against Tulsa) so he could run out of the tunnel one last time because we were pretty certain that he was not going to be able to play again."

Prince Shembo suffered a concussion on the kickoff following Tulsa's first touchdown.

"We knew it was a concussion because he said Dr. (Jim) Moriarity was a very attractive man," Kelly said. "So we knew that he was definitely concussed. He's better today."

Kelly is pleased with the way Bob Diaco has coordinated his first defense at Notre Dame - with one exception.

I have to agree with the defense part. Navy was terrible, but the other games were solid performances. Stanford was just flat out better than we were. Scheme wasn't going to save us in that game. We aren't working with a very good defense, and they've performed well enough.

That he does, he was really coming on this year. With the injuries, I don't know about his draft stock, but he'll at least get a shot with someone. Hope he makes it, the kid deserves it.

Remember Jimmy's freshman year? Even sophomore, for that matter? Offense was awful. You need the guys to fit the system.

I'm hoping that's all it was.
