If the refs didn't blow the Cole Luke strip, recovery for a TD I think the outcome of that game is different. And possibly a different outcome and bowl game for the team this year.

No doubt. Shaw is a top 10 coach, maybe top 5. He has been the head guy at Stanford for 6 seasons and he has won 10 games 5 times. That is damn good for the school with the most stringent admissions requirements in the P5.

Stanford just got two 5* OLs in Walker Little and Foster Sarell. They also have the #1 QB (5*), #1 TE (4*), and OSB.

However, they currently have only 9 2017 commits and only one is on Defense, a 3* Safety.

They definitely have a few difference-makers but they have some work to do in the next few weeks.

His absence takes on greater significance because of another development: Senior Ryan Burns, who replaced Chryst in the Sun Bowl (and started the first seven games of the season) is expected to leave Stanford under the NCAA’s graduate transfer policy.

With Burns gone and Chryst recovering, the Cardinal has one scholarship quarterback for offseason workouts and spring practice: freshman K.J. Costello.
