The concept was good, but "Saturday in the Park"? Let's hold hands and skip through the park.

VA Tech's Enter Sandman is the GOAT anyway. we're playing for 2nd place when it comes to entrances.

I'm sure this won't be a popular take but I've never really loved Shipping off the Boston either. It's a tradition at this point and the song is good it just feels odd like it should be BC's entrance or something.

Cut the Boys are Back entirely. All the classic stadium rock songs are so overdone and boomer coded too, need to pick something modern that will actually get the crowd going. Do the prayer then cut all the lights. Crank the bass in the stadium as high as it will go and blast something like Paris or Fein as the players run out.

Modern music is mostly shit. Half or two thirds of the stadium won't even know what the hell it is, only the student section and maybe 1/4 of the rest will have any idea what is playing. Everybody knows songs like Crazy Train though cause it's stood the test of time. The modern garbage will be remembered among the current generation but not by people after like Classic Rock has been.

Then why don't we just play flight of the bumblebees or something? It's stood the test of time!

Who cares? If we're picking the best song then sure Crazy Train wins any day, but this is music that's supposed to pump up the crowd and get our players ready to run through a wall. No one is getting fired up by Crazy Train in the year of our lord 2026.

If you look up any lists of most difficult places to play you'll never find Notre Dame stadium on any of them. The dated music and in game production are a portion of that, and at least one that can be controlled. Unlike the number of blue hairs or size of the student body.

“You know? When I was a kid, you dressed like a woman and you sung about the devil. Now, that was music! And you had one ballad every album, started off in black and white and when the guitar solo came in, it went to color. Yeah, that was music.”

Yes, because a classical orchestra tune is the same as a Rock anthem.
Maybe we can make it work with the beginning of this version:

In all seriousness, we just need to find something that is “ours.” I absolutely love Florida’s “I won’t back down” into the 4th quarter.

I’m also jealous of LSU’s Callin Baton Rouge and Bama’s Dixieland Delight.

The band plays this song with about 2 minutes left when we are going to win. Turn this into a Notre Dame version of Callin' Baton Rouge and make the whole stadium green. Our stadium is never going to be a hype bounce house. This would lean into tradition and allows for crowd participation.

Also, make a sick hype video for before the game and put it to this cover of SUTB. Who doesn't love some sick epic orchestral covers?

I've very much enjoyed getting caught up on the posts over the past 24 or so hours. Some good ideas. Some that are perhaps not so good. However, the demographics of the posters on an internet message board may not be the most qualified to determine how to improve the hype factor :ROFLMAO:

Overall, I think the most important and valuable input to improve the atmosphere would come from the students (and players to a lesser extent).

If the youths are hyped the rest of the stadium should follow.

Yes! Pick one and stick with it! Can't create a tradition when you're changing the songs all the time.

Side note... to all the haters, I actually like the Six Flags song after a 3rd down stop.
