I’m surprised they haven’t mixed in “The Rocky Road to Dublin” as the guys from Locked On pod suggested.

After getting caught up, I've come to one conclusion. We're not going to get a consensus. :p

I don't know why they got rid of I'm Good as a lead in to the main entrance song. That always got the stadium woke up. The Boys are Back is meh to me. But they used to do it before the band, so it was fine. Would be a good coming back from halftime song.

This guy is seemingly “head” of in game fan experience. He joined in 2024 from … LSU!

Can only assume the admin is heavily handcuffing him / others trying to make things more “cool”

I emailed this guy bc why not. It’s insane we’re in a spot where we can get undergraduate transfers admitted and pay millions for HS kids but can’t fix the music.

I don't want to hear EDM or mumble rap. I don't care if the players like it. I'd rather hear the Avengers theme song than that. The Boys are Back is fine. It fits. Play "Going the Distance" from Rocky II when Adrian says 'Win" before the bell chimes. The fans watching are mostly older millennials, Gen X and Boomers anyway. They can play Da Baby or Lil Baby, Baby Baby, Dat Baby, Bhad Bhabie or whatever version of Baby they want in a decade or two.

This is why A&M has mastered it. "Power" is legendary but even if you don't like hip hop, it's instrumentals only and it still hits hard.

Millennials don't like classic rock... save that for the nfl

I went to games in 2024 and last year for the first time in over a decade. I'm a millennial, and all I could think during all the timeouts with music being pumped in was... I miss the band. They are relegated to play the fight song, pre game, the alma mater (essentially).

I'm going to post some comparisons and see what people think. The first is when ND had it the closest I think, but still not great. (UNC 2021). Next is LSU 2024 against Ole Miss. More of a sing-a-long atmosphere but much better lighting. Last is South Carolina. We just don't have a song like Sandstorm of our own, but they start with a pump up video similar to before the game. I think we need to try to go in one of these directions more.

Yeah, the SEC teams' production is just so far superior to what ND is currently doing, LOL.

My company was a game sponsor for a South Carolina vs Florida game. I was able to be on the sidelines through the first quarter. The opening was absolutely insane. The chill bumps I had in looking up and seeing the crowd be absolutely electric was one of my coolest sporting experiences.

Part of the problem with the pregame is the NBC production. People want to have things televised, and it turns into a giant energy suck in the stadium -- it's been like that for years during the game, it's just crept into the pregame now. Putting aside the "really? That's the song they're going with?" aspect of it, "We Will Rock You" felt like it eent on far too long with nothing happening.

I remember when "Here Come the Irish" came out when I was an undergrad. It's a good song for reunion, but a football game? If you told me then that they would play it at football games, my reaction would have been "I guess Monk is still making final decisions."
