The last thing brought to my attention on this forum that was this good looking was Tranquill's girlfriend.

But seriously as far as Shamrock Series uniforms go, they're #1:

2009:

2010:

2011:

2012:

I'd have to rank them:

1) 2013
2) 2011
3) 2010
4) 2012

* can't really count 2009 as it was the usual jersey

And speaking of the Shamrock Series, does anyone has any insight on the 2014 game's location (or 2015, etc)?

2009: San Antonio, TX
2010: New York, NY
2011: Washington, DC
2012: Chicago, IL
2013: Dallas, TX
2014: ?????

The 2013 schedule is still up in the air obviously, but I assume the series will go on. I would probably guess a place like New Orleans or Atlanta would be a great choice, but I'll be a homer and want Cleveland to get a game.

It was talked about in Swarbricks interview with Eric Hansen. I believe Wake Forest, UNC, Louisville and a couple others were options for teams. No location yet eithier

It'd be really funny to play the 2014 Shamrock Series game in Detroit.

I think Charlotte would be a good place to play it as well.

I'd imagine the ACC school we'd be playing for it would have an impact on location... would they want Florida? New York? Home state in an NFL stadium? Will be interesting.

Assuming Charlie Strong still is at Louisville u can bet he would want to play in Florida.

The Shamrock Series game, though, will be a part of it somehow, somewhere. It’ll be incarnation No. 5 for the off-site home game that has set up shop in San Antonio, Texas; New York; Landover, Md., and Chicago to date.

“Essentially what you’re doing with the Shamrock Series is taking one of your games that might otherwise be a home game and moving it,” Swarbrick said. “So there’s nothing about our scheduling dynamic that really impacts that. We can move any game and make it the Shamrock game.”

Purdue, Northwestern, Michigan, Stanford, Louisville, Wake Forest and North Carolina are the projected home games/candidates for that game.

“You do it in consultation with your partner. You don’t do it unilaterally,”
Swarbrick said of choosing the game. “So you say, ‘Here’s an idea. How about this time we take this game here?’ And if they don’t want to do it and they really want to come here, then we would let them do that. But I think a lot of schools see the benefits.

“It’s going to be a prime-time broadcast. The excitement that has surrounded these games has been great, so I’m not worried about finding opponents for those games.”

I believe playing an ACC team in ACC territory would a be TV rights conflict for the ACC team. These are ND home games being played at a neutral site so NBC has the TV rights. Conference teams playing in conference territory are obligated by their conference TV contract to be on the conference network. That was a bar to ND playing an SEC team in Atlanta. It would also be abar to playing an ACC team in Atlanta.

WSU and ASU are both PAC10 teams so playing in BIG12 cities on NBC isn't a conflict with the PAC10 TV contract.

Can we make that our permanent away? Holy hell, those things are beautiful.

Ya know that just made me think. Tradition is huge in our program, and I understand that, love it and wouldn't change it. But at the same time we could keep our traditional uniforms for all home games, and have some sweet redesigned ones for our away games. Not the same as, but along the lines with Oregon and such. Just for away. That could keep both sides of the fence happy. The traditionalist and the young fans and recruits. But never change the gold helmet.

I'm going to echo Wooly a bit and say that while I like them overall, I would prefer that they just start leaving the helmets alone. The best element of any uniform in any sport at any level doesn't need tweaking. I mean, hell, they leave the wolverweenies helmets alone, and those basically look like a pool of urine slowly spreading across a body of water.

I'm with you and Wooly. Never change the helmet.

I hope ASU wears black.

There is enough racial discussion and threads around here lately, lets keep it in those threads. J/k

What is Arizona State wearing in the game? Red? Black? Would be interesting to see what they are going to wear as well.

I think it would interesting if they had the final game with Michigan as a Shamrock Series game and marketed it to no end and made it some big spectacle.

Northwestern at MetLife (new Giants/Jets stadium) is my prediction. I believe Swarbrick wants to get back into the NY market.

I actually had a conversation with him about future schedules/Shamrock Series games eight months ago. He listed 3 or 4 cities he was looking at. I ended up getting pretty drunk later that evening and don't remember much about the conversation (total fail I know), but I do remember him talking about MetLife and wanting to get back to NYC.

Also, I think Rice is the team that gets bumped from the 2014 schedule.

Cleveland would be awesome, but I doubt that they would move a home game such a short distance without that destination being named Chicago.

It would be awesome to see them come out to San Diego or even the Rose Bowl for one of these.

For recruiting purposes, Florida would be the best choice for the Shamrock Series. Both Orlando and miami are destinations equipped to handle an influx of money spending Notre Dame fans. Tourism is the foundation of the state's economy.
