Lotta ass covering from Georgia friends happening right now. Congratulating me on the win next week. Trying to get out ahead if my shit talk if we win and increase their own if Georgia does.

IMO, Eason getting hurt is the best thing to happen to them. Fromm played better in limited reps in that game than Eason played all of last year. Much quicker delivery, looked more accurate too.

Compare the drive charts with Eason and the other guy to Fromm and it was crazy. Also, Fromm's QBR in that game was really good and way better than what Eason has shown.

I've always thought ND was going to win this game in large part because Eason played like trash most of last year. I worry a lot more about their offense if they have a QB that can get the ball out on time to the right guy.

Couple of points:

1. Fromm was 10-15 for 143 yards against Appalachian St. Decent but not great against a team with far less talent.

2. Fromm as a true FR. in his first road game at ND? I like it. Elko will show him things he's never seen.

3. Eason at least has some big game experience to fall back on from last year. People put way too many expectations on the kid last year as a true FR. He had a terrible OL and no proven receivers.

4. Bottom line give me the inexperinced QB playing behind a weak line on the road as the opposing QB next week.

hope it feels like a road game to him and not a neutral site game with alot of red in the stands

REALLY looking forward to this game.

Predicting it will be a dog fight, but a I can see a few different outcomes.

UGA's DL is the real deal. I don't see us being able to run run run. Their LBs are the real deal too so TE play (short) will not be so easy either. UGA is starting true freshman at L Safety. Both Ss are new, and IMO Wimbush is going to have to be successful with the long ball if we are going to get a W.

Our D can prove a lot this game against the run. Will they? I think we can get pressure on their R side (true freshman RT), but how much will they pass? Fromm is stud (top 5 recruiting), but how will a true freshman handle the pressure on the road at ND? How much will we sell out to the run, and will Fromm burn us because of it?

UGA has a ton of talent, and the athletes to give anyone trouble with their D. Not saying we don't have the talent on O to compete, but IMO our game plan needs to be spot on. Wimbush could begin his legend with this one. But so could Fromm.

Big game for both coaching staffs. BK wins this one, and he gets a great boost of confidence. All the coaching changes will look brilliant, recruiting should get a boost, and he has 4 manageable games before a bye week and USC. Lose, and the wheels might get a little loose and the seat might start getting warm again.

I feel like ND is very good at making new QB's feel comfortable. Hopefully that isn't the case this Saturday.

Didn't appear to be the case this week for Marchi.

Of course Fromm appears a good bit more talented than Marchi (although, I don't think Georgia's receiver corp is as good as Temple's)

Gosh I hate UGA, hate that program and loathe the fan base. I'm just glad I live outside of it now so I don't have to hear about this all week and (God forbid) we lose and hear about it the rest of my life. I'd feel better about this game if Richt was still at the helm because no one shits the bed (not even ND!) in big games better than a Mark Richt led team.

The game for UGA will not rest on Fromm or Eason's arm, it will rest on the legs of Chubb and Michel.

I'd rather face Kirby Smart. Didn't exactly set the world on fire last year. Still looked like an asst. coach.

Stanford 2015
Clemson 2015
Ohio State 2015
Florida State 2014

All would have been bigger wins IMO. This is on par with Oklahoma 2013.

I agree but it's more important since this one is at home. A road loss is more understandable in a matchup like this.

I'd say this one is on par with impact to the 2014 Florida State game.

I don't think anyone expected Clemson to be the National Title contender they eventually became, and the dreadful weather dampened the buzz. Stanford also felt a bit lessened by the waning promise of a playoff appearance. Ohio State should've been bigger but it felt as though we never had a chance.

Temple put an ice-cube on Kelly's hot seat. A Georgia win would douse that seat in an ice bath.

Watched the Georgia game this morning on ESPN. Not impressed. Their o line is not good. They struggle to throw. I think if Wimbush learns from some of his mistakes and our dline continues to attack. We are at home. We should win and cover the spread

I guess Vegas is waiting on Eason's status to put out a line. Can't find one.

A Tom Fornelli article notes:
Georgia at Notre Dame is currently off the board because Bulldogs' QB Jacob Eason is uncertain for the game with a knee injury.

The preseason spread was ND -3.

I'm currently watching the UGA game and not to argue with anyone saying they were worried about Fromm, but I'm really not impressed with this kid thus far. He's making completions because his WRs are making big plays when he's chucking it up. Several of his passes have been extremely bad decisions.

Smart isn't running wildcat on 3rd down because Fromm needs to rest his arm.

Just watched 1st half of Georgia game. Barring more than 2 turnovers from Georgia, I think we lose by 14+.

And I'll bet all my vbucks on that.

Their front 7 is nasty, and their corners are right on every route. I dont think we can run on them.

I think their RBs will have 15 or more runs of 8+ yards.

We really need Fromm to play and Elko needs to find a way to hit him.

Taken. I'll round up to 1,309,000,000,000,000 if you win.

App St averaged over 4 yards a carry against Georgia's front 7. Notre Dame averaged almost 10 yards a pop against Temple. I have a feeling Notre Dame has a better o-line, running backs, and QB than App State. Also, UGA only had two sacks to show for it.

Not including sack yards, Notre Dame gave up 106 yards on the ground and just over 3 yards a carry. This is against an offense that probably has a better running back and o-line than App State.

I'm not making an argument that Notre Dame has a better front 7 than UGA. But UGA's defense looked far from "nasty" against App State. I'm not saying that Notre Dame will win either. But I'm perplexed by your predictions because they didn't do any of this against a lesser opponent at home. But some how they'll do it against a team that has better players all across the board?

Thinking the same thing. Not sure what Koon saw in that game besides high school star rankings that makes him think we lose by two touchdowns at home. Can we lose? Sure but I expect this to be a dog fight

I hope you guys are right and I'm just jaded!

It'll be a tough game that's for sure. But they only beat App St by 21; that's underwhelming, if you ask me. I see it being a fight until the end.
