Has the Clemson game from last season really fucked up Ian Book? Shudder to think, but something to think about.

Even if we "figure it out" the rest of the year its games like this one national stage that reinforce the chatter that ND doesn't belong in a playoff. This kind of performance against a 2-10 team leaves an impression, even if only for one half

We didn't do this against a 2-10 team, we have no idea how good they are. I don't think they are world beaters but they might be a typical .500 team.

We just had a lot of nerves and Satterfield caught us offguard to start.

On their final TD drive, the Irish receivers failed horribly to get open

Their rushing offense is making yards outside not much inside unlike a triple option like Navy. Changes in spacing and in defensive line moving prior to the snaps as well as safety playing closer would counter that. Contain with varying blitz packages.

The 2-10 thing is a bit of a misnomer. This Louisville team will win 6-7 games.

That said, no reason for this to be close. Book was awful, coupled with two Lousville drives to start.

We are going to cover, and look much better in the second half.

If not, well, 3 months till basketball.

So White appears good against pass but terrible against run.

Bilal looks like a slightly softer version of 2018 Bilal.

Please Lea be smart enough to realize his ceiling is "not the reason we lost but didn't help us" and let Simon/Lamb grow on the job.

Teams have figure Book out and his inability to stretch the field so now expect more of this. Fumbling twice without getting hit hard is inexcusable. He will be the lesser QB possibly in every game we play this year. All these weapons and this is what he has to show for it? Like his QB coach he was never meant to start at ND and it is now showing. Why can’t we have nice things aka a stud for a QB?

Let’s be real, many teams that are considered better than ND looked either sloppy or not very good in their first game. Georgia wasn’t sharp, Bama looked like poop at the beginning of their game, OSU looked meh besides the 1st quarter. Michigan was blah and Florida was kinda butt too. Let’s not act like everyone played like Penn St this weekend. All that being said, im absolutely petrified on Book. Not sure if he can get it done

If this is how we play on Monday nights, good thing we didn't make the championship

How on earth does Bilal not recognize that screen and simply raise his arms to deflect?

He has the football instincts of a sea urchin

That is supposed to be Phil. Can’t draft more impressive out of HS. I don’t understand the lack of progress.

Horrible start to the half defense. Get off blocks and run to the ball
