Question - why is it that players who are on the ground wait for a teammate to help themup instead of just getting up themselves? It seems awkward sometimes because they’ll sit there for a while with their hands up waiting for someone when they could have just gotten up on their own.

Without a doubt. It's what put us over the top O-wise vs scUM, and what can doom us if we rely too much. I love a few 50/50 balls per game under the right circumstance, it just can't be relied on to be your best play.

I dunno why we have such a tough time getting off the field on 3rd and long. It’s almost like we do better on 3rd and short.

I think it is because ND loses its aggressiveness on 3rd and long. Almost turns into a prevent mentality. While on 3rd and short the D is very aggressive.
