Agreed Lenzy just hasn’t developed as hoped but no one denies his speed when not being pressed. If Buchner puts air under that ball it’s a TD. Buchner insists on throwing fastballs regardless of the situation. Works great down the seams, slants, etc…but on fades and wide open posts!?!?!? Ugh.

Not really? No one should be praising Buchner's passing game until he proves it. The vertical passing game in particular is something ND hasn't done well in 5+ years. Rees has basically been running some store brand West Coast passing game.

I, for one, cannot understand the lack of slants and shorter posts in this offense. Just seems so fucking weird to me.

Starting to wonder the same thing. Buchner throws fastballs on every play. I’m trying to recall a play where he showed touch but nothing jumps out. Also wonder if that’s why we don’t see as many short routes that requires touch while getting our athletes out in space.

Styles has much better hands and route running. Quite frankly he's the only dependable receiver we have outside of Mayer.
