Plus, the waitresses at B'Dub's are like the JV squad. And if you're not wearing an Affliction printed t-shirt, you'll be seen as an outsider.

Yes but the JV in Vegas is more impressive than the JV in most cities.

I'd look up the alumni club watches for Vegas. Bdubs are not the place for a passionate fan due to their family atmosphere/mixed company.

The one I did find watches in one of the casinos which isn't the greatest place to watch if you get loud.

What are these alum clubs like in general anyways? are they full of old basterds or young people who wanna go to bars to watch games? do non-alums who are just ND football fans go to these meet ups too?

Depends on the club. The two I've spent time with were totally different from one another. One was a bunch of old people who did the bare minimum to get by as a club while the other was was a bunch of d-bag barely functioning alcoholic yuppies.

do non-alums who are just ND football fans go to these meet ups too?
Yes. My mom has nothing to do with ND and she's the chair of the Alumni Schools Committee. She runs the ND booth at college fairs and calls accepted students from the area to congratulate them. Our club president isn't an alum either.

I've watched the games with the Phoenix Alumni Club for the past 8 years and I can't imagine watching it anywhere else.

I'm from NW Indiana and Chicagoland area... I'm not used to sharing the TV with other teams. I mean NW, Illinois, Purdue and Indiana aren't Nielson dynamo's. The best thing about an ND game watch is they take over a bar and there is no one else. If there are 125 people at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort bar for a game, 123 are there for the ND game.

In Phoenix, the Alumni Club used to be all together, young and old... but have split over the last few years. I have been to both and the older crowd is better. Nothing beats a 75 year old cursing at the TV like a sailor! If you think the older alumni are going to be boring, conservative types... you'd be wrong, at least in Phoenix anyway. On the otherhand, I went to the young groups game watch for the 2012 Pitt game and it was dead... even for that crazy game. Always a lively bunch at the older group's watches and they are very inclusive for the non-alums like myself and my sub group of Chicagoland Subway Alums..

Plus... guys like Bert Berry & Michael Floyd show up... and probably Troy Niklas this year.

I will be trying out the Orange Co. chapter this year when I'm over here on Saturdays. Hope they are half as much fun as the Phoenix group.

Obviously, I'd definitely recommend watching a game with the local chapter.

agree with Wizard--it really depends on what club and the venue. Also--bigger cities will have bars that consider themselves an "x" or "y" watch bar. not necessarily in affiliation with the club/alumnus/university in any way.

I've watched with the Wilmington, NC Alumni/Fan club. they change their venue every year--last year they held it at a bowling alley/pool hall. which was awesome for being gregarious. mostly middle aged to latter aged alums. i think my girlfriend is the youngest at 31. I'm second at 36. but lots of fun. they invite me to all of their other gatherings as well--like send off ccokouts or picnics for ND students leaving for school year. i also get tickets through the club too. very cool group.

the New York Alums get together at Public House--and it is a PARTY. we got there early to make sure we got a seat a the bar. like 2 hours early for Ok game two seasons ago. great time. loud. fun. so many people. great drink and food specials.

last year, upon my move to Chicago, i went a couple time to a ND watch bar--Citizen on Erie. had a blast! they also provide bus rides to and from for games days. haven't taken part in the party bus yet--maybe next season. same thing as New York--I'd say more fans than Alums, but a healthy mix. lots of fun.

Someone says this every year single year and it never happens.

You'd think people would learn not to underestimate Michigan after losing 4 of the last 5.

Man, no shit! It's like the group of people that were saying we would roll Pitt last year...despite the fact that EVERY Pitt game since fuckin' 2002 has been decided by 1 score or less! The only exception was Charlie's first year, 2005. That's some damn crazy consistency when you're talking about close games. People should know a bit about the opponent before they start making assumptions. Unless Pitt's entire squad of first stringers tore their ACL's before the game, I'm going to go with recent history and say the next Pitt game will be a tough one.

This is how I remember it. Also, how I've taught my kids to say it.

Not.

Michigan had to replace the banner that hung in their locker room recently, however the wording was changed to fit better with the team's present mantra:

"Those who stay...will probably go 7-6"

Not to derail the hail to the cocksuckers enthusiasm, but while reading the article on scUM AD Dave Brandon's recent fireworks fiasco (Proposed Fireworks Show At Football Games Blows Up In Michigan AD's Face | ThePostGame), I came across this particular detail I thought pertinent:

But when the regents looked into the fireworks proposal, they were surprised to find Brandon wanted to set off fireworks not just after both games, but during the second game, after touchdowns -- replacing the century-old tradition of celebrating success with the marching band blasting, "The Victors."

Looking at next year's skunkbear schedule, who were they really trying to rub it in on?

vs. Appalachian State
@ Notre Dame
vs. Miami (OH)
vs. Utah
vs. Minnesota
@ Rutgers
vs. Penn State
@ Michigan State
vs. Indiana
@ Northwestern
vs. Maryland
@ Ohio State

... I mean they play us, the fuckeyes, and "little brother" all on the road.

EDIT: What a cocksucker. FUCK MICHIGAN!
