So now that the dust has settled and ND has beaten Michigan and the Michigan fans have risen up, showed their class and passed along their congrats to the ND fans one can only think, F*** Michigan!
Has anyone uploaded the replay from the game yet?
I am not going to be long-winded with this, it is best to forget that game and move on. Bullets then...
Michigan was the better team yesterday and if you remove the ridiculous number of turnovers, they kill the Irish.
The offensive line looked great all game, giving Denard tons of time and opening up running lanes. Michigan probably could have ridden the O-line to victory easily. They dominated the much-heralded ND front seven.
Borges went gimmicky far too early, IMO. The Devin Gardner pass was a nice play, but also a harbinger of things to come. The Vincent Smith HB-pass was far too cute. Hopefully looking at the film from this game will lead to more confidence and more straight-forward game planning in BIG season.
The defense is getting much better up front and controlled the game yesterday. Tackles were spread evenly throughout the team, with the LBs and DTs accounting for a good percentage. No sacks is disappointing though.

The turnovers counted the last 3 years when ND was "the better team", didn't they?
UM dominated for all of 30 yards more of Total Offense then they did against Alabama, 299 against ND and 269 againt ALA. Bama forced 3 INTs and 0 fumbles. ND forced 5 INTs and 1 Forced Fumble. ND also 5 TFLs and 4 QB Hurry's but there was pressure almost everytime Robinson dropped back to pass, including PA downs.
Borges is a brillant OC. He recognized ND's young secondary and anticipated the Front 7 would overpursue. He was correct but they countered quickly and the UM execution wasn't as lucky as the past 3 years of underthrown balls. UM had 3 weeks of evaluating their players strengths and weaknesses in live action and 3 weeks of ND film showing their tendencies. Don't lay it on Borges.
Your defense stymied ND's rookie QB. The superslow Tommy Rees playing in relief ran untouched on a QB draw for his ONLY CAREER TD. ND also ran 31 times while passing only 19 and completing only 11 and some of those were "out of the backfield". Your Front 7 should have accounted for a majority of the tackles under those circumstances not just a good percentage. Tommy Rees played almost 3 quarters and despite his career negative yardage and turnover history, UM achieved NO SACKS in the game, 2 TFLs (RBs) in the game, and one QBH (19 pass plays).
All great points BGIF.
I constantly laugh when they say NDs front isn't that great. If it wasn't for the TOs we'd have won.
My point is they keep hyping up Denard (and he is an elite athlete), but say it was Denards fault they lost, not our defense. But.. Our D was in his face all night long. So is it that Denard sucks, or is it that our D is good? Outside of Denard there was no running game.
They should have killed the Robinson experiment this year and stuck him in the slot in space. Clearly he won't be a QB at the next level.
I think its funny to hear all the crap we were saying the last 3 years coming from them this year. Had our offense been clicking the way it eventually will, this would have been way out of reach. I mean Tommy came in and mopped up a cool 150 yards in a pretty efficient half. Had he been in all game, who knows how mow many yards he would have had.
Couple things. First, the woman (using term loosely) was actually from Michigan, and the "row of teeth" was actually a "bunch of dentures". Second, it proves again that the toothbrush was actually invented in Michigan, otherwise it would have been called a teeth brush.
I was listening to Herd segment when David Pollack came in. (Not exactly pro-ND here.) Pollack said our front 7 is as good as it gets in the country. He was so impressed with our defense. I think Cowherd couldn't believe Pollack said that. He didn't really know what to say.
Golden do you mind if i use this a my signature pic?
I can't take credit for it, swiped it from OFD.
