I seriously liked him for a minute at Ole Miss. You're 100% correct, though. He hasn't changed, and in this new era, he's probably gotten worse.

As a head coach, he has a couple of pre Covid C-USA championships at FAU. A good portion of the guys on that roster were there because of Charlie Partridge, FWIW. Otherwise, he's won a Peach and Gator Bowl.

The funny thing is that they were rewarded. They remained in the AP top ten despite a lackluster performance against UTEP and weak wins over SJSU and Sam Houston until they lost to unranked Florida. If OSU loses to U of I and gets blown out by Indiana they shouldn't get in either, despite the "reward" for playing Texas in the nonconference.

Whether they had 2 or 3 losses, they were consistently one of the highest ranked _ loss teams in the country. Ultimately the highest ranked 3 loss team. Above USC, Vanderbilt, Michigan, Arizona, Houston etc for a reason.

Ehhhhh. In some cases, sure, but I get sort of tired of pretending that these dudes in their 20s (sometimes mid 20s) are just innocent actors in all of this. Maybe they have the least culpability, but they're not entirely blameless either.

It's especially comical when people (you didn't) refer to them as "kids." Most of these dudes are grown ass men making decisions as adults.

You're right that these players are capable of their own decisions, but at the same time LSU and Kiffin were the ones enticing them to come back to school and ended up not facing any real consequences while these guys got left out to dry.

Each of the players has a team of professionals that advises them. They are enticed the same way other pros are enticed, via money. I'm not happy at their lost gamble but I don't think they got left out to dry.
