I'm actually impressed that BYU was added. I bet BYU thumps them unless they lost a lot last year.

I believe they still have Hill at QB... correct? When healthy he has potential to go straight beast mode.

On Mizzou's schedule, even their in conference schedule isn't that difficult, for ANY P-5 conference, forget 'the gawds of the planet' conference.

Luckily they don't have IU on their schedule, or that may pose too big a problem again.

It does amaze me how people for pretty much all over just can't let ND's independence go...

I do think it hurts ND under the current four team playoff format however. Until they expand to an eight team format, I think the committee would be hard pressed to put the Irish in over a conference champ with the same W-L record.

they got pushed around in 2012, great season in 2013, more lucky than anything else in 2014. Thinking they take a step back this year.

If the SEC East was more powerful I would agree with you. But USCe is down, Fla is a work in progress, Vandy is Vandy once again, and while UK and UT are better... we just don't know how much better yet. Pinkel has an easy OOC schedule and should be able to win at least one of his cross divisional games - I think he loses to Arky. I can give Pinkel the benefit of the doubt... he has earned it the last few years. But I do think they take a step back. How far remains to be seen I guess.

being a UT homer, I think they lose that one. I think they split @KY and @Vandy. Losses to SC, @UGA, @Ark, BYU and split UF and MSt.

This. More than likely the lack of a championship game is going to hurt us more than help us. 11-1 Irish aren't getting in if the alternative is an 12-1 Power 5 conference champion. I find it humorous that Pinkel is worried about Independents.
