Now saying the mother wasn't at the school but was killed at the home of the shooter...

It's infuriating that in the rush to get the "scoop" all this "information" comes out and maybe a quarter of it is true. If I am Ryan Landza and knew nothing about my brother's actions and still have my sanity after all this madness, I am suing these media entities for falsely reporting me as the killer and posting my picture and Facebook link on their broadcasts and websites.

All this misinformation causes more harm then good. Wait until you have the facts to report them.

Just saw that too. Killed her THEN went to the school where she taught and gunned down her entire class. Kindergarteners.

This....ugh......

Also, police are saying the older brother is not involved with the executions. (Breaking News ‏@BreakingNews

Seriously. Now his name will be associated with this tragedy forever. It'll be the first thing to pop up in a google search for him.

He oughta sue each broadcaster who reported it and then change his name.

My best friends in Hoboken say there are still people outside of his apartment. For what reason would you be outside of that kid's house for? His little brother just killed their parents and massacred her kindergarden class, everyone blames him and he gets hauled away by the cops on television for questioning. Leave the ****ing kid alone, I think he's had enough today.

Reports are saying he told police that he hasn't spoken to his brother in years. He is not under arrest but was questioned.

Truth. For about 4 hours the name "Ryan Landza" was the most hated name in America and was associated with the mass killing of children. When it is something as important as the death of people is far more important to be accurate than first. I understand that we are hungry for answers and the story but come on, integrity and due respect for the lives of individuals are more important than my curiosity and their ratings.

Makes the way he was treated even worse.

I guess the question is whether the media was reporting what they were told by authorities or if they made a few leaps. If they jumped to a conclusion without information from police or investigators, yes...horrible.

EDIT: Horrible either way.

I did hear a report earlier that said the actual killer had his brother's ID on him. Maybe swiped the brother's ID from the mom's house. Who knows but regardless, this whole situation is just sickening.

It sure has seemed as if these events have been happening with increasing frequency as of late. The problem with these events is the fact that the media plays "live" coverage for 48 hours straight. These sick *** people often times crave the attention and did these horrible acts for attention, so why do we give them what they want? Take these terrible crimes off national TV and see what happens. I know why they do it but that still does not make it right by any stretch of the word.

My initial thought was that the little brother was given the ID by the big bro as a fake ID. I did the same of my younger brothers. Something as innocent as that but my brother carried by ID around with him for years.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Ryan Landza works for E&Y in NYC. Man does his life suck. An Accountant whose brother will go down as one of the most evil figures in modern U.S. history and murdered the rest of his family, and who was thought to be that evil person for the better part of 4 hours. Where do you go from there?

Yeah. He told police he hasn't been in touch with him in recent years. Maybe he brought it as his personal keepsake/memento..something like that.

Time to Deal with Guns

Time to Deal with Guns

There was a similar attack at a school in China today - with a knife. 22 people were injured. Knife attack at Chinese school wounds 22 children - CNN.com

I am so sick of people saying guns don't kill people. Sure it's the moron's fault who did it, but without a gun they can't do this kind of damage. What is it going to take for people to realize that guns are the problem? We can never get rid of the lunatics, mental illness and other problems can never simply be eliminated. We can, however, prevent them from having the tools to engage in these kinds of disasters.

Not debating or anything close to that nature. Just saw this posted on Twitter and thought it interesting.

Twelve facts about guns and mass shootings in the United States

He also added this: Mythbusting: Israel and Switzerland are not gun-toting utopias

Ya I would actually consider 61 mass shootings in 30 years pretty rare. Obviously one mass shooting is too many, but it's difficult to profile these people, understand motivations of, and explanations for these incidents. Especially when the mass killings are happening in entirely different venues, different countries, to different targets, and by some who are connected to a group and some who are not the similarities are fewer than they seem.

It's all horrific and sickening. Kids... I can't believe someone would do this at all.... But kids??? .....

Father is vice president of taxes for GE Energy Financial Services. He learned about it from a reporter waiting outside his home. Parents divorced in 2008. Cops did a welfare check on his home. Apparently, he asked the reporter if he can help him, the reporter told him what happened then, the reporter said the dad went from surprise to shock to horror.

As a teacher, I have had many many kids. I know just how much I care about each of them. But, I have none of my own right now. I cannot fathom.

Did you forget about the 9 attacks before it that happened where 21 total were killed and 90 injured?

His observations are unfounded.

Switzerland has 45.7 guns for every 100 people.

Israel has many fewer at 7.3. They have guns on planes and guns in schools and attacks rarely happen there. When they do happen, they are stopped by someone else with a gun.

America has 88 guns per every 100 people.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_of_guns_per_capita_by_country

Switzerland has 6 homicides per 100,000 people. Israel has fewer than 2.

Why and the hell would a Kindergarten teacher have two hand guns and an assault rifle in her name? Does anyone know more about this?

School attacks in China (2010–2011) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You're proving my point - nine attacks, 90 injured and 21 killed. The odds of anyone dying are infinitely lower in knife attacks. What would have happened in the Batman mass shooting if he'd had a knife? In the Gabby Giffords attack? The Fort Hood Massacre?

The murder rate in the US is worse than the following countries: Sri Lanka, Palestine, Libya, Afghanistan, Niger, Turkey, Iraq, Iran and about fifty other third world countries.

How is this confusing?

Do you need more? I can cite several multiple shootings where fewer were killed than injured. Do you also know about the worse massacre in our country's history involving a school? 1927. Man used home made bombs to kill 54. Nearly a hundred years ago and he didn't use guns.

Is anything being done for your country's alcohol related injuries/deaths? Plenty of people will accept those numbers but never think twice about banning alcohol.

People should be realistic. The crazies that do these attacks are aiming for places that do not have guns. If guns are the problem, why aren't more people in gun stores murdered? Nearly 100% of people in gun stores own guns. Because there are so many guns we are to assume that there would be a lot of murder too correct?

Sorry... I will withdraw that statement. And will be done with that discussion. We all have our opinions and I plan on sticking to mine. I like being realistic.
