Same weakling that offered the President of Ukraine a swift ride out when the heat began. Something Biden would have done in a heartbeat had the roles been reversed. Thank God that not all men are cowards who seek their own interests first and foremost.
I have to think that is a secret service nightmare. While I wish we had a President who was competent and capable of doing things like this, we should remember during that trip he had at least 3 comments that had to be immediately walked back by his staff due to serious implications and he later flat out lied about them when questioned. It's best that our President gets out of the way and says little until we have a real one again.

Bucha is a crime scene, and weak Vlad is the criminal (think RICO)

This is not going away.

And if that general who butchered Syrians gets under way, things will get worse.

Putin is failing, flailing...

Losers lose

Here come the howitzers!!!!

What is salient is the aggregate contribution of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Members
in treasure and ordnance. It appears that, but for planes and a no fly zone, Ukraine will be given the ordnance to defend itself.

  • Russian warship evacuated: Conflicting reports have emerged from the Russians and Ukrainians about an incident involving a Russian warship in the Black Sea. The Russian Defense Ministry claimed the Moskva was evacuated after a fire onboard detonated ammunition, seriously damaging the vessel, according to Russian state media. But Odesa state regional administrator Maxim Marchenko claimed Ukrainian forces hit the ship with "Neptune" missiles, causing serious damage to it.
  • Bridge destroyed as Russians crossed: A Ukraine special-operations unit destroyed a bridge as a Russian convoy crossed it while it headed toward Izium in southeastern Kharkiv region, the Command of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine claimed in a statement Thursday. They said the Ukrainian unit destroyed the bridge with an explosive charge as a convoy of a Tiger armored vehicle and several trucks crossed it.
  • Nearly 200 children now killed: Some 197 children have died and 351 have been injured during the war in Ukraine, the country's prosecutor general said Thursday, citing figures from juvenile prosecutors. Bodies of children aged four and 10 were found along with the burnt body of a 17-year-old boy in Hostomel and Bucha, officials said.
  • New, heavier weapons: For the first time since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the US is providing Kyiv with high-power capabilities, including Mi-17 helicopters and 18 155 mm Howitzer cannons. The new weapons package represents the starkest sign to date that the war in Ukraine is shifting, to deal with the type of fighting that’s likely to take place in the Donbas region — open terrain rather than the close fighting in urban and wooded areas. The EU has also approved an additional 500 million euros for military equipment for Ukraine.
  • Evacuations resume: Nine evacuation routes for civilians to leave besieged Ukrainian cities have been agreed for Thursday, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk said in a Telegram post. Vereshchuk said there were no evacuation routes on Wednesday, adding Russians blocked buses in the Zaporizhzhia region and violated the ceasefire in the Luhansk region.
  • The fight for Mariupol: The commanders of two Ukrainian units defending besieged Mariupol said they were able to join forces, as Russia claimed advances in the city. It comes as Ukrainian forces remain blockaded inside Mariupol. The Russian military has repeatedly claimed to have taken strategic positions in the city, but has also faced stiff resistance. On Wednesday, the Russian Defense Ministry said Mariupol's commercial seaport had been captured. CNN was not independently able to verify that claim.

These Ukrainian successes are just plain fun to see. Russia and Putin are getting embarrassed on the world stage. I have absolutely nothing against the Russian people - they've been misled and victimized by despots of one flavor or another for centuries - but their current government is about as corrupt and rotten to the core as it gets. The more they get pantsed on the world stage, the better.

Misled and victimized, yes…

BUT…

they have skin in the game, and are in fact responsible for not doing something about the near constant stream of dictators russia has visited on the world. as far as I’m concerned, blood is on the hands Of the russian people, too. They owe the world a coup and establishment of a non-hostile regime. I don’t feel sorry for them.

Putin has found his station in life, Chief Recruiting officer for NATO

The Finns were split on NATO before the invasion but now,, take a bow Vlad you monkey,

68% of the Finns now favor membership, 77% if the government recommends it.
How surreal can it be to live in a nation where support INCREASES if a government recommends it?

Russia has sent a "strongly worded letter" to the US objecting to US Arms Shipments.

Through FOIA, we now have the film of our government's response:

Looks like Russia is about to gain control of Mariupol, giving Russia a port city to bring in supplies in larger amounts

After enduring a brutal assault for more than a month, Ukrainian fighters in the besieged southeastern port city of Mariupol rejected a Russian deadline to surrender on Sunday and vowed to fight on.
  • The situation on the ground: Mariupol has been surrounded by Russian troops since March 1, with much of the city and its immediate surroundings reported to be largely under Russian control. However, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said Mariupol has not yet fallen. Ukrainian troops trapped in the city are holding out despite overwhelming odds — but they are confined to pockets of resistance, and their numbers are unclear.
  • Russian forces to close entry: Mariupol will be closed for entry and exit starting on Monday and men remaining in the city would be "filtered out," Russian forces said, according to an adviser for the mayor. The Russians had begun issuing passes for movement within the city, the adviser Petro Andriushchenko said, adding that citizens will not be able to go out onto the streets or move between districts without one. CNN cannot independently verify the claims.
  • Russia's demand: Russia's Ministry of Defense called on the Ukrainian soldiers still in Mariupol to lay down arms surrender by 1 p.m. local time on Sunday, warning anyone still resisting after the deadline "will be eliminated." It also said trapped "foreign mercenaries who joined the Ukrainian forces," including Europeans and Canadians, "will be eliminated" if there is further resistance.
  • The Ukrainian response: "There are still our military forces, our soldiers, so they will fight until the end and as for now they are still in Mariupol," Shmyhal said on Sunday. An adviser to Mariupol's mayor also rejected the Russian ultimatum, saying, "as of today, our defenders continue to hold the defense." The Russian defense ministry confirmed their ultimatum had been ignored.
  • Red line in negotiations: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said on Sunday the situation in Mariupol "may be a red line" in negotiations with Russia. “The city doesn’t exist anymore. The remaining of the Ukrainian army and a large group of civilians are basically encircled by the Russian forces," he said on CBS' “Face the Nation."

The picture/video of that town looks pretty rough. Wonder if/when the port will be usable.

I'm more concerned about the Ukraine soldiers that are basically surrounded. I would have thought reinforcements might have been sent to at least get them out?

That is a difficult military operation. I had two buddies at Khe San. Tough stuff.
