Lyons is going to visit with his mom who has not been to ND. I think this would be his 3rd visit to ND. I heard December for the visit. Guess it would be the banquet.

I read online that his mom favors Notre Dame, this is huge. Call me stupid, but I think we will land Lyons.

I agree. UNFORTUNATELY do you know who I think Floyd reminds me of? Yep thats right, Duvall Kamara. Both had a great freshman year, an ok to descent sophmore year and pretty much a non existant juinior year. Eerie is it not?

WHAT?

Floyd had a BETTER than great freshman year, then followed that up with a sophomore year where he missed 3 games and STILL had stellar stats.

Floyd is a beast and the best receiver in the country when he's on his game.

We just need to get him on his game again...

This is encouraging to say the least. I like our chances with him and really hope we get this outstanding safety. I think he is possibly one of those immediate impact kind of players that will make our secondary better right away.

dre- great SONG! oh crap-- dating myself.....

First a guy is trying to pick himself up, concerned posters are trying to keep him from harassing himself and he is getting self dating advice from others; then this! I think this self-relationship thing has gone too far!

PS: Guess what ND recruit from Georgia is having a great year?

Monroe Area DE Stephon Tuitt accepted his official invitation to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Wednesday at his school . . . Speaking of Tuitt, he was named Lineman of the Week by the Touchdown Club of Atlanta. He had 11 tackles and a sack in the Purple Hurricanes’ win over Chestatee.

Eerie? Only if you think rain on your wedding day is "ironic."

Floyd:
2008 48 Rec 719 Yds 15.0 YPC 7 TD
2009 44 Rec 795 Yds 18.1 YPC 9 TD
2010 24 Rec 339 Yds 14.1 YPC 2 TD

Kamara:
2007 32 Rec 357 Yds 11.2 YPC 4 TD
2008 20 Rec 206 Yds 10.3 YPC 1 TD
2009 23 Rec 218 Yds 9.5 YPC 1 TD

So, in Floyd's "decent" sophomore year, he averaged more than 110 yards and a TD a game (he was out for 5 games). And in the first four games of his non-existent junior year, he has already put up better numbers than Kamara did in his junior year.

Kamara is a decent player. Came out quick, but has slowed down with his production in the last couple of years. He blocks well and is well appreciated.

But, if Floyd reminds you of Kamara, you're not watching the same games that I am.

Kelly will take 25 if he gets the right commits

Kelly will take 25 if he gets the right commits

easy bud, dont have room for all that. 2 spots, maaaaaaayyyyybe 3 but even thats a stretch. Its Williams, French or Drew only got room for 1

Next years fifth year seniors better step it up a couple notches this year, if they want to play next year.

How many silent commits have we actually gotten? I'd bet the HOUSE that Lyons is just using ND for some publicity......he'll be a GAYTOR when it's all said and done....

This is great to hear. I always like our chances better when we can get their parents to come too.

Come on Mr. Lyons we could really use you.

Read DaVaris Daniels formspring ( no I don't post ), and he's hinting that our next committ comes from the defensive side of the ball... But he wouldn't say names. Could be just him seeing what's left on the board, but I'm hoping he knows something we don't .

Dillard's Wayne Lyons out 4-6 weeks
Panthers safety suffers slight MCL tear
October 04, 2010|By Dave Brousseau, Sun Sentinel

Dillard safety Wayne Lyons learned Friday he will likely miss the rest of the regular season after suffering a left knee injury in the loss to Cypress Bay on Thursday.

Lyons confirmed Saturday that a MRI showed he had a slight medial collateral ligament (MCL) tear that will keep him on the sidelines 4-6 weeks.

"If we make it to the playoffs, I'll be ready," Lyons said. "It's my senior year, so I'm not going to try to think about it.

The 6-foot, 190-pound Lyons has already made official visits to Notre Dame and UCLA. He is scheduled to visit Nebraska on Oct. 29.

Slight tear. Still not good to have knee problems coming in.

hopefully Lyons or Ishaq or French???

I think it is fair to point out, with respect to DD, that it is somewhat obvious that our next commit will come from that side...

just to clear things up for those that don't know but a sprain is a tear. I'm telling you it drives people nuts in the sports medicine business when announcers without a clue of what there talking about even if there a for player or coach when they say thank god it's only a sprained knee rather than tearing knee ligaments because spraining is tearing.

Well, to be technical it can be either.

Ligamentous (sprain) and muscular (strain) injuries may be classified according to the degree of impairment.

* Grade I sprain - Stretching but no tearing of the ligament, local tenderness, minimal edema, no gross instability with stress testing, firm end point
* Grade II sprain - Partial tears of the ligaments, moderate local tenderness, mild instability with stress testing (but firm end point), moderately incapacitating
* Grade III sprain - Complete tear, discomfort with manipulation but less than expected for degree of injury, variable amount of edema (ranging from negligible to grossly conspicuous), clear instability with stress testing (expressing a mushy end point), severe disability

However, Ricochet's point is quite apt - even Grade I sprains can take 4-6 weeks to heal properly, whereas Grade III sprains often indicate damage to the posterior capsule of the knee and need months of rehab and knee bracing, and even surgery.

Christian French I think will be the next committ. He enjoyed his visit a lot and his parents also enjoyed the visit. French liked his visit a lot. French Step Father asked if French is gonna visit any other schools; "I think so, but I'm not sure".

Of course, if he is a silent ND commit, then all of these ploys to confuse active recruiters is working great.

He should, theoretically, be ours at the hat announcement at the AA game, right? ;)
