Exactly.

Now if they were told the school had all this evidence against them, and the students knew this evidence was true, then it is their own fault if they did not transfer on their own.

Pretty sure the student's in question know whether they are guilty or not, depends on poker face

Agree with Wooly in the fact that the University really disappointed me with their "processes". Truthfully, if there was some hinky anti-FB activity going on behind the scenes, I would seriously consider an anti-ND stance. However, I'll leave that for the crazy-azz Bogs of the world to worry over.

The kids involved? Yes, disappointed they placed themselves in this situation. However, if true, they need to suck it up and deal with it. If not, appeal the cr@p out of it. Unfortunately, in this day and age, it's very common for celebrated athletes to deny-deny-deny until they are backed into a corner. I certainly hope this is not the case.

So, in sum, I'm lost in what all this means. Highly disappointed about the process and the kids who put themselves in this situation. Wondering what the fallout will be, and am quasi-waffling on my previously unshakable allegiance if the unthinkable (apparently not) scenario plays out.

I want to make this very clear. Vacating wins is not. an. option. If the university is seriously considering vacating wins, then I want all involved parties in that process fired immediately. The admin has already reached the point of no return, but if the university actually thinks that vacating wins is anything but a completely brainless idea, then heads need to roll.

What happens to these kids will ultimately fall on them. They made the mistake (supposedly) and THE UNIVERSITY caught them. That I understand, but don't you even DARE take the team down with them. That would be about as disgraceful as you can get.

1. What right do you suppose you have to demand anyone to be fired from a private University?

2. If someone were to be fired, how would that work? Would the Administration who has established the University's policies and is running this entire investigation fire themselves?

3. If there is someone who is in a position of authority who is markedly upset with how this is playing out, don't you think they would have used that authority to alter this process by this point?

4. How would vacating wins be "taking the team down"? I don't see any crystal footballs or Heismans on campus from the past 2 years that would be invalidated by it. I don't really care if they vacate wins honestly. I think that is one of the least damaging thing to the team that could come from all this. Our rabid nature as ND fans significantly distorts what the actual perception of this situation is to the common college football fan. As long as there is no NCAA sanctioned punishment, it will be largely off the college football radar by the end of the season IMO.

I guess, but if ND is consistently in the the playoffs and competing for the NC, that can potentially take care if itself over time as long as Michigan continues to struggle correspondingly. That stat is constantly changing back and forth anyways. In no way does that come close to "taking the team down" either.

Just speculating but even if the worst things happen-out for season- this may turn out ok in the long run-Example- Ishaq should have redshirted and now can. K.Moore, Eilar, can still have a 5th year as well. The only 2 that can really help know in a big way are DD and Russell and hopefully they play because gone to NFL either this year or next. Having Ishaq back next year would be a luxury IMO.

Surprised that no one mentioned this before. The number of years of eligibility is up to the school, Notre Dame. Last year Everett Golson lost one because of a policy at ND that the school doesn't allow the athletes to preserve a year of playing eligibility when suspended for misconduct.

How does this all work in the end? ND does not allow fifth year seniors. A fifth year player needs to be a graduate student. Therefore what the school says goes doubly, because the student athlete is behind on their degree track. If the student elects to transfer, and is left with credit wanting, ND would block their waiver, and the NCAA would not overturn that.

This thread has gotten away from its roots. Can we go back to discussing breakfast for dinner?

Exactly.... Back to the important stuff.

Grits?
What's up with them. I live in the South (Atlanta), but grew up in a little Italian neighborhood downtown Indy. I was always the cream of wheat, or oatmeal type of guy. I get down here, and everyone is eating fricking grits. I've tried them 100 ways. No thank you. Can anyone from the MW explain? Southerners, please refrain from replies. I already heard it.

At the risk of forfeiting my forthcoming vbucks, does it strike anyone else as odd that we haven't heard a peep from anyone involved? Someone on another board is claiming that KVR has already gone home, but that may just be yet another rumor.

Has not been communicated to players yet. Still interviewing non-student athletes. Credible source (neighbor's poodle). Really.

On another note, pancakes or waffles for you fine sir?

I have an English muffin with one fried egg and a slice of American cheese every single morning. Bacon if it's on sale that week.

Lol. Stone ground grits cooked in heavy cream and with cheese is the best thing in the world.

Bacon and eggs cooked in the bacon grease. All cooked in a cast iron skillet.
