Quite possibly the best sandwich ever made. It's called the Bobby from a sandwich shop called Capriottis..

It's more like the regurgitation network.

I work near the one in Torrance, or maybe it's Gardena. All of the cities here run together.

Call me crazy but I like the artificial corn-syrup based syrup as compared to real maple syrup. Not a huge fan of real maple syrup.

You haven't lived until you have had an all you can eat pancake breakfast in one of the world famous Amish villages during their Maple Syrup Festival extravaganzas. The best are east of Cleveland and northeast of Akron. Go to one with the fresh wide sliced bacon, pancakes made from home churned buttermilk, with gobs of hand churned butter melting down over the top, covered with fresh warm viscous maple syrup! The kind of Saturday morning that lets you know you are alive, and that life is good!

(I think I just hurt myself.)

Anyone ever had toast with peanut butter spread over it, and put syrup on top? It's amazing. I liken it to a freshly made snicker bar.

Okay, okay. I was waiting for this. Koon, you started it with awful sounding combinations that are really good.

Years ago we used to visit a family on the coast in a town between Ocean City, NJ, and Cape May. I think it was called Stone Harbor.

In their cottage at cocktail hour, (when wasn't it) they often had aperitif. One interesting selection, was a Triscut with peanut butter, then catsup, and horseradish sauce on the top. You wouldn't believe it. It tastes just like shrimp cocktail!

Oh, well.

When was it ever a thread on "rumored violations"?

It's over. Time to move on fellas.

Stone Harbor is on the same barrier island as Avalon, just above the Wildwoods. Cape May County used to be a client of mine.

Ah Wildwood...I spent many a misspent hour in Wildwood. One time a guy who owned a shirt shop on the boardwalk said if we bought shirts he'd buy us beer. We were stupid enough to believe him. When we came back later, he acted like he didn't even know us. My buddy had a milkshake in his hand and he was so pissed, he threw it at the guy and the lid came off...milkshake all over his store and t-shirts. The cops came and actually just let us go because they believed us that he lied, even though what he promised to do was illegal. Then we just waited outside the beer distributer for someone to buy us some. Should have done that in the first place.

Exactly.... Back to the important stuff.

Grits?
What's up with them. I live in the South (Atlanta), but grew up in a little Italian neighborhood downtown Indy. I was always the cream of wheat, or oatmeal type of guy. I get down here, and everyone is eating fricking grits. I've tried them 100 ways. No thank you. Can anyone from the MW explain? Southerners, please refrain from replies. I already heard it.

I grew up in SW Ohio and now live in SC. I absolutely love grits. I can eat them on their own, cheese grits are the bomb, and shrimp and grits - ooooh weeee them's good eats!

Oh, and I loved them before moving to SC.

I moved here from PA 20 years ago. Didn't like them at first but now I love them. Prefer them with syrup but shrimp and grits really are fantastic.

Ah Wildwood...I spent many a misspent hour in Wildwood.

My great-grandparents moved to Avalon, NJ from Greece. They had a nice house right next to the dunes. Every few years we rent out their old house and have a giant family vacation in Avalon. Quiet atmosphere, white-sand, clean beaches (but cold water). My favorite vacation spot. We always take a night or two and travel to Wildwood to do the boardwalk.

You can go in to Stone Harbor and go to the small downtown district and do some shopping if you're so inclined. Small-town feel on the coast. Very cool.

There's also a cheesesteak place somewhere between Avalon and Stone Harbor that is the ultimate hole-in-the-wall, called Pat's Lunch. Run by an old WWII veteran with little help, he serves the best (but maybe most expensive) cheesesteak I've ever had. Last time we visited, he was in his early 90's but going strong. I'll be sad if I go back and Pat's isn't open anymore.
