I'm not going to hold a grudge or anything but dropping TD passes like that is pretty horrific. If we had lost a close game people on here would be crucifying the kid. So the fact that we blew them out is sort of shielding him from the justifiable criticism.

Yeah, guilty as charged. Think it comes down to the fact that I think Fuller will be good, but I don't think Procise can be. Hopefully he proves me wrong, but my guy tells me there are other guys that should be on the field instead of him.

I love reading your posts rhode! But I do have to ask which people are telling you this info? are they similar to those who said Andrew should start in front of Tommy for the BYU game in 2012?

I don't recall anyone crucifying TJ when He fumbled the ball against Pitt, which could have been the difference in the game.

I've seen him duck chances to block people and he can't catch. My opinion is actually the opposite of yours. Everything I've seen him do is between mediocre and bad. He doesn't do anything even average. Nevermind above average. Basically, he doesn't look like a football player to me.

He doesn't do anything average? Seriously?

2 springs ago in practice, Golson scrambled out of pressure and ran to his right. Prosise wisely helped the QB by running to an open spot. Golson hit him and Prosise caught and literally ran away from Kavarai Russell for a 70 yard TD. And Russell tried to catch him but it wasn't happening. Nobody in attendance there would ever say Prosise has below average speed. Not even close. He also caught a nice TD in the spring game, showing good speed and elusiveness there as well.

His hands are definitely questionable and he fights the ball way too much, but to say he does everything below average is ignorant at best. This kid has way more talent than you're giving him credit for.

What other guys? He backs up Carlisle at slot receiver. The other guys are outside receivers. Hunter might eventually see some action at slot receiver but Prosise is better than you give him credit for.

CJ Prosise doesn't have 1/100th of the track record TJ had.

TJ in 2012 hadn't done a lot either. He was getting there but was also a junior who had played a lot of college football but didn't have a lot of big plays up to that point. 2013 was a great year for TJ though.

Ok so because he doesn't have the track record, that means it's ok for people to crucify him?

I never said anyone should crucify him. I'm just seeing a lot of "he redeemed himself" comments and whatnot when in reality he had 2 targets and failed miserably on half of them.

I'm just saying he gets a C- grade from me for this particular game. Not making any statements about the rest of the season.

Prosise dropped the ball because he thought Tommy was the one who threw it to him. Still Tommy's fault!!!111one

LOL, you're grading a kid for the game based on the only two plays you noticed him? How did he do on his other assignments? How was his blocking? He's the best blocker among our group of receivers. I can guarantee you the coaching staff will grade him out much higher than you do.

My thoughts on CJ are that there was a considerable amount of hype coming out of last year's camp, and I was expecting some big things from him ... even flashes of good play. To my eye, that never really happened last year and this year I've consigned myself to believe it when I see it. Maybe him getting open deep two times against Rice is the beginning of that (I think he does deserve some credit for getting open deep and maybe that is an example of a flash that I never saw last year). I'm still in wait and see mode. I was ready to say that I was finally going to see what everyone seemed to be talking about last summer, but that easy drop gave me pause. Those things happen. If he keeps getting open deep and he doesn't lose concentration and let the ball bounce off his chest, I'll be the first to give him the credit he deserves. Do it consistently. I'm not as down on the guy as Rhode seems to be, but he has a lot to do before I'm sold.

Not a lone wolf on this one, hate to say it but I'm in agreement.

But I also feel the same way about Brown and, from what I can tell, I'm totally on my own in that opinion.

Not totally. I think there is a lot more hype on Brown than actual evidence that he is going to be a stud receiver at ND.

What? If you want to assume my grade is based on two plays go ahead and sound ignorant. His blocking was fine but he didn't get open very often. As a fan, idk what else I can judge him on besides that and the two targets. As a coach, they can grade him however they want.

BREAKING: WR's drop passes. All of them. Every single one, at some point in their career. From Jerry Rice to Randy Moss to Calvin Johnson.

And the score was 48-17. And ND won. And he did "redeem" himself. Turned out the dropped TD didn't matter...48-17. If some of you want to nitpick then I guess go for it.

Michigan week. Get your minds right.

You're in agreement that Prosise does everything below average? Wow. You guys could not be any more wrong.

I only read the last few posts.

Prosise misses some catches, but with the exception of one yesterday he seemed to be finding his way

What I really want to know without going over the last few pages from the last time I was on is if there are any updates.

Thanks in advance.
