Lifted from Sooner Message Board:

"I'm hearing from a friend at ESPN that Trey Franks has been dismissed from the team, and Jaz Reynolds is being suspended for 7 games."

I guess Twitter is beginning to back up these claims.

*All signs point to multiple failed drug tests according to the intel being gathered.

Interesting...Jaz Reynolds is an important piece opposite Kenny Stills. If he is suspended for 7 games, than he will be out for the ND game!

Sooner Nation is over there griping about their depleted WR corp, and how they will have to start a true freshman. BTW, those guys seem like really down to earth good fans, I may have to follow their chatter leading up to the OU game.

Why the hell would they pick 7 games? We're the 7th game. They have an easy 6th and 8th game with KU and ISU there. Weird. You figured they would have just suspended him for 6 games. 7 just comes across as very weird to me.

Hate to be the torch-bearer of bad news, but they probably think the 7th game is easy too.

lol that's funny. I wouldn't be worrying about their frosh WR or depth at all.

per 247:
Courtney Gardner 97 rating #4 Juco
Sterling Shepard (Who I love) 95 rating #13 WR #109 overall
Durron Neal 94 rating #24 WR #153 overall
Derrick Woods 92 rating #36 WR

All are 4*

Oklahoma has way to many weapons on the outside. Now if Metyoer was out also with Durron Neal than i would be excited.

I agree with them having a ton of weapons, but you would be more worried if they lost a dude that hasn't played in a single game and another that isn't even on campus more than the bevy of talented/proven receivers?

You very well may be right, but dang... neither of those dudes have done a thing in college yet.

Completely agree with you. But OU fans are saying Trey Metoyer was better than Kenny Stills this spring which is saying something in it self.

If he is better than Kenny Stills then we have a big problem come gameday, that's for sure.

Call me old-fashioned, but I don't want to win because a bunch of OU starters are on suspension. Our guys need to test themselves against the best if ND is going to be a top squad. Logging wins against Ugots U doesn't mean much. We've already got our cupcake games.

When I look at our 2012 schedule, the first thing that comes to my mind is, "Man, I really wish this were more difficult."

I just hope ND can keep the OU game within two touchdowns.

Blake Bell would start at QB for ND right now.

They are loaded.

So you're not Irish Catholic, and don't enjoy gratuitous suffering?

Kidding, kidding. Look, I'm not asking for a more difficult schedule, but I'm happy we're playing some bruiser games. ND needs to get in the habit vanquishing superior opponents if we want to be a serious BCS contender.

Report: Louisville wants out of the Big East - CBSSports

what's this?

"The report also says that while UConn has publicly maintained that it wants to remain a member of the Big East, privately it would like to join the ACC along with Notre Dame."

I am personally not in favor of moving to the ACC, although I know that's becoming the popular alternative to the Big Ten. I just feel that the Big Ten makes more sense academically (the CIC), geographically, and traditionally.

But perhaps Notre Dame doesn't mesh well with the Big Ten, let's hypothesize what Notre Dame/Connecticut addition to the ACC would look like.

Who would the rivals be? Boston College, Miami, Pittsburgh...Georgia Tech.....Florida State? Notre Dame has played Georgia Tech every decade since the 1920's, and

In a twelve-game schedule, you would probably play eight conference games, leaving four spaces for new opponents and USC/Michigan/Navy/Michigan State/Purdue. That situation is less than desirable.

Not playing Purdue every yr wouldn't break my heart and alternating UofM and MSU every other wouldnt be so bad. USC is really the only one I wanna keep annually, and that's possible in the ACC. For the record I want ND to stay independent as I enjoy the freedom of scheduling and being able to rub the cash we can make all by ourselves without having the distribution of wealth a conference brings. With that said if we HAVE to join a conference I would hope for the ACC because one with recruiting I believe the ACC puts in a better position and the academic trade off is not that drastic from big 10 to ACC when the ACC has schools like Wake, Duke and UVA.

Louisville wants out. Pitt wants out. Boise is second guessing. Who's going to be left?

I thought this thread was specifically about OU's players being suspended. Not trying to be a D, just thought that was the OP's intention. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Edit: LOL, nevermind. I see you are the OP. My bad

I read the article as just talking about b-ball. A football presumption would be quite a statement. Swarbrick said fairly recently that he would feel comfortable in regards to ND's position if there was some sort of playoff setup in the BCS. I could not find much about what "feel comfortable" means. Until more is said, I have no problem assuming ND would be an exception allowed to be a part of it despite not being in a conference.
