I don't know about current players, but the best player I ever saw was Squints Palledorous who managed to make out with Wendy Peffercorn when he was still just a kid.

In a house full of Cubs fans and being the youngest and closet Braves fan, I always looked forward to the Cubs losing on WGN and the family flipping to TBS to watch the Braves gave (which was the norm in the 90s). On the bench was Bobby Cox with his arms folded sitting next to the living bobble head Leo Mazzone who could never sit still always rocking back and forth.

Yeah, Avery was no slouch at all. He would've been top dog in the rotation of a lot of teams. People forget that Smoltz, Glavine, and Maddux were not bad in the field nor at the plate. Glavine was used a few times as a pinch runner or even a pinch hitter and all three had good batting averages for pitchers and actually hit homers. Not to mention that Maddux just owned the Golden Glove award for over a decade.
It was almost unfair when ATL signed Maddux but what a rotation! Glavine could’ve played pro hockey, Smoltz was traded from his hometown Tigers for Doyle Alexander as Detroit was making a playoff run down the stretch in 87. i hear complaints about Smoltz as an analyst but I love his insights. He and Maddux are both scratch golfers. They were all three elite in their own way.
