Dang, as a Braves fan TT & Bobby in the same week is tough!
I was gonna give it a day and post the same. Many people in Atl/Ga. feel the same! He was loved by his players!!It’s a shame he could only bring home one ring with those loaded teams.
That pitching staff was probably the best ever. Three Cy Young winners. Those were some monster teams in the early and mid 90s. I'd never been a huge baseball fan until then, but they hooked me. They certainly should've won at least 3 or 4 World Series though. It’s a shame he could only bring home one ring with those loaded teams.
He won the only one I rooted against them in,….It’s a shame he could only bring home one ring with those loaded teams.
And Steve Avery to Boot,… when Steve Avery is a largely forgotten man you have a BEAST of a starting rotationThat pitching staff was probably the best ever. Three Cy Young winners. Yeah, Avery was no slouch at all. He would've been top dog in the rotation of a lot of teams. People forget that Smoltz, Glavine, and Maddux were not bad in the field nor at the plate. Glavine was used a few times as a pinch runner or even a pinch hitter and all three had good batting averages for pitchers and actually hit homers. Not to mention that Maddux just owned the Golden Glove award for over a decade. And Steve Avery to Boot,… when Steve Avery is a largely forgotten man you have a BEAST of a starting rotation
Yeah, unfortunately, by the time that loaded team had hit their stride, the Yankees were right behind them with an even more loaded team. It’s a shame he could only bring home one ring with those loaded teams.
I kind of push back on this,… the Braves hit their stride in the early to mid 90s and had plenty of the time before the late 90s to early 2000s Yanks came around,… hell, when they finally met, they had the yanks down 2-0 with the first two games in New York. Those 90s braves teams were incredible. It’s also on them completely that they didn’t bring home more rings, both are true and that’s okayYeah, unfortunately, by the time that loaded team had hit their stride, the Yankees were right behind them with an even more loaded team.
I would disagree with you, but you're entirely correct. If I was choosing my all-time team, Maddux is my first pick as a pitcher. All things considered,.. Maddux is the greatest pitcher who ever lived, by a lot. I said what I said
Here’s a fun exercise,… currently playing today is a player I might consider for my all-time team first pick ( meaning it’s a draft and others are picking too so you cannot just load up the best team ever kinda thing). I’d honestly prob save him for later rounds but I’d def prioritize this current player as a corner stone of my all time best team. I’ll let you know off the bat it’s not Mike Trout even though the Angels are my heart,…, major props to who can guess who it is. He’s vastly underrated and legit an easy all time great at his position. Where my baseball fans at? Bobby would love this.I would disagree with you, but you're entirely correct. No on both. I have scruples and believe in a higher power so no affronts to the baseball gods by dishonoring them with any dodgersSorry if this is to obvious but I start with Shohei.
