Euro Trip actress Michelle Trachtenberg was found dead at home this morning at age 39. Apparently she'd been dealing with liver disease and a liver transplant. Initial reports are that her death is likely from complications related to this.

never heard of her but sad to see someone die so young though
I hadn't heard of her either, but definitely too young. Having had liver poisoning, I can tell you she felt miserable. You don't realize how much the liver effects you overall until it doesn't want to play nice. RIP Michelle.

She was in a lot of stuff from Euro Trip to Gossip Girl, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and countless TV guest appearances. Very pretty with an easy natural acting style and good comic chops.

So young! Did she have an underlying health condition leading to the liver transplant?

The 30 somethings would know her from Harriet the Spy, and for some of the 40 crowd like me you might know her from The Adventures of Pete & Pete. Euro Trip was definitely one of her most well known parts, along with Buffy and Gossip Girl. She was on several Weeds episodes. Maybe Inspector Gadget with Matthew Broderick?

Two time Oscar winner Gene Hackman, 95, along with his 63-year-old wife and their dog, were found dead at their New Mexico home yesterday. No cause of death announced so far, but the local sheriff says foul play isn't suspected. Odd situation. Maybe carbon monoxide? A gas leak?

Hackman is one of the all time great actors IMO. Academy Award winner. Very storied career with over 70 films to his credit. One of the first movies I saw him in was The French Connection "Alright, Popeyes here". A must see movie. RIP Gene.

Hey, as a 35 year old I remember her in Pete & Pete! Great surreal show that I was a little too young to get when watching, but liked it anyway.

But yeah, Harriet the Spy, Euro Trip, Buffy, and Gossip Girl she was super great in all of them. Super sad reading that at lunch yesterday.

Superman.

1st time he busts through the door. 'Oh come on in, the door is open.'

2nd time. 'Geez, don't you ever knock?'

Looks like Hackman and his wife had been dead for some time. Appears to probably be from carbon monoxide.

Has to have been something like that. If it was just the wife and Hackman, I'd think some weird suicide pact. But the stories include the dog too. That's indicative of something else (although I guess it still could be intentional). Not a bad way to go for a guy who was 95 and seemingly lived a pretty great life.

Also, can't make a list of best Gene Hackman movies without mentioning Crimson Tide.

No gas leak, per something I read somewhere. The wife was found in the bathroom on the floor and apparently there was an open pill bottle with pills all over the place.
