Now that right there is funny. I don't care who you are, that's funny right there!
It's reality! The truth hurts sometime.
Now that right there is funny. I don't care who you are, that's funny right there!
This the same guy that can complete 5 of 19 passing ??????
Yes, that guy from Huber Heights Wayne Ohio, the Big Ten freshman of the year
the guy who is more talented than any other QB on the ND roster.
Remember that I am a ND fan, I'm just being truthful.
Your truth is not reality. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that tOSU's coaches would have more highly coveted Tommy Rees, than ND's coaches would have coveted Braxton Miller.
That would be a losing bet....ND very much wanted Braxton Miller. I can't think of too many schools outside of the MAC and maybe Illinois that were hard after Tommy Rees.
Who did he beat out? They have to give the award out to someone.
You're confusing potential with talent. Talent is what you can do. Right now, Miller is an average runner and a very poor passer. That's his talent level, right now. He should get better, but that's not a guarantee.........just ask Tommy Rees.

I disagree with pretty much everything in this post. The only thing you have correct is that Miller is a poor passer.
Kmoose you are a very intelligent poster and very knowledgeable about notre dame football ... but we recruited and offered a scholarship to braxton miller. He ran a 4.5 in high school... was also known to be a prototypical qb who has good accuracy... he was also a four star recruit... playing in an offense that did not either fit him or use his abilities adaquitly(I'm sorry this word is spelled wrong and I do not know the correct spelling) Tommy Rees on the other hand was recruited to compete but was expected to be more of a backup. He also did not fit in OSU's offense at all, nor was he offered by them. Saying that TR did what he could for us in 15 games. Braxton Miller has more upside has very good speed as well as shake, wiggle, or whatever the kids call it now a days. He also has a very strong arm and will be a perfect fit in Meyer's offense. He played pretty well other than the couple of missed passes that can be expected from a freshman. He kept ohio state in that game against michigan. I think we would be very happy if he was on our team...
But I do respect you as a poster and generally you are right on topics regarding nd football
You expect freshmen to miss a couple of passes here and there. But you DON'T expect them to miss guys who are open by 15-20 yards, with no one between them and the end zone. He did keep them in the game against Michigan.... he should have WON it for them. He missed at least 2 guys who were wide open for TDs, and that was just in the second half. I don't have anything against the kid. But I really don't understand the hype around him. He's not shown me anything that justifies everyone's hopes.
But you think Rees wins that game for OSU if he were there? That would mean no Floyd or Eifert to bail him out and he'd be a sitting duck behind their line.
OSU's receivers were nearly running roughshod over Michigan's secondary. They were so wide open that "bailing out" would not be necessary.
Like Hendrix did right? You expect freshmen to miss a couple of passes here and there.
Like Tommy does on 95% of his deep balls right? SMH just making a point kmoose!!!!!!But you DON'T expect them to miss guys who are open by 15-20 yards,

Let's try comparing them after Millers 2nd year in tOSUs program.....I'm gonna tell ya right now, even in his first year under UM he's gonna win more games and have way better stats.
That's fair. But I'm not saying that Miller can't develop into anything. But, as seems to be the norm lately, people are hyping him up as if he is already performing at his peak development. What ever happened to earning such high praise?
Passing Efficiency - NCAA.comYour right I saw this and it made me feel much better. Not to bad for a QB with a decent running game, a really nice TE in Eifert, and the best WR we've ever had here. [/Ime·di·oc·ri·ty/ˌmēdēˈäkrətē/You don't make a valid point by exaggerating things to cartoonish proportions. You're saying that ND's receivers are open by 15-20 yards on 95% of Rees' deep balls? All that shaking of your head is causing some damage, I think.

Noun:
The quality or state of being mediocre.
A person of mediocre ability. AND THATS WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR OUT OF MY QB
Yup right around Hendrix completion percentage in the second half of the Stanford game. I don't think you do get it moose I've told you I had stood up for Tommy for the last year and a half but he just isn't progressing and I can't take it anymore you can't deny that. Your riding a damn donkey in the Kentucky Derby bro!!!!! While attempting throws of 10 or more yards this season, Tommy Rees has completed 56.1 percent of such passes at home, averaging 11.1 yards per attempt, with five touchdowns and four interceptions. On the road, Rees has completed just 38.3 percent of such throws, averaging 7.2 yards per attempt, with four touchdowns and five interceptions.Notre Dame Football BlogSo Rees is barely above average. You don't like him, I get that.

Yep I'm an idiot. And you don't like me, I get that. I think we all get that.1. It's you're, damnit!
That doesn't change the fact that your exaggerating, to make me seem worse than I really is.But I don't care how long you defended Rees, now you're hammering away at the kid as if he is the worst player ever to put on a pair of cleats. He deserves your thanks, and regrets that you are no longer in his camp.
.Now that right there is funny. I don't care who you are, that's funny right there!

Fact is Tommy was the best choice we had last season after Dayne went down. If it was that he showed more patience in the pocket or picked up on the offense or if Andrew just wasn't ready I don't know, but we are not getting better as the year progresses on the offensive side of the ball and you know that. You admitted to wanting a QB change, so you got what you wanted in the Stanford game. Immediately after the game you were critical of Andrews play which pissed alot of us off because it was a sign of what is possible with a mobile QB with a big arm in this offense. I myself have never went the way of calling Tommy "Turnover Tommy" or calling him inept or whatever, so don't lump me into that category. I want to win, and win big so we can shove it down the throat of every piece of trash CFB analyst in the country(EXCEPT FOR LOU) who says that we aren't ever going to win a damn thing again. I will stand up and thank Tommy for the 2 years of service and wish him well. No hard feelings here just passion broI hate the played out tune of "Rees is no good;
