Sounds like a guy who was babied growing up. Just sayin'

I had an alcoholic defensive coach who yelled at us all the time, and hardly ever gave any praise. I don't ever recall thinking about crying and asking for him to be a little more compassionate. I remember getting pissed at him and thinking "I'll show this &^$%%&"

And thats what I did. And it was then that he affirmed me. He was making me tougher, and I appreciated his hard nose approach in the long run.

P.S. Not recommending the alcoholic approach by the way. Never a good path
You missed the mark. Coaches can be tough., but that's not what Smith was talking about. Sanders told him to hit the portal without ever getting to know him. How does a coach know who a kid is (commitment, dedication, ability, etc.), if he doesn't get to know the kid?

All of Deion's kids are assholes. Idk if you can blame them when their dad was an even bigger one.

I would bet Shedeur is the NCAA cover athlete too. Gross.

To paraphrase Irish#1, the asshole doesn't fall far from the asshole tree.

ya gotta click through. Basically, some scrub that plays for the Buffs backed up Shadeur, then some scrub that plays for Austin Peay called him out, then some other scrub that plays for the Buffs called *that* guy out, which Neon piled onto.

...and then I slammed my hand in a car door on purpose to make me forget about this shit.

This is a guy that talks about God and The Bible every other sentence out of his mouth.

Coach Prime probably sticks to the Old Testament if I had to guess.

Maybe I'm missing something, but it really feels like Deion/Shadeur are blowing this.

They had incredible momentum about the program building, both going into last season and after their hot start. Now it just feels...wasted. Maybe some kids will love the trash talk, but you can bet that it's also turning off a lot of recruits/potential transfers/parents.

My point is that these are Smith's claims, that Deion overlooked him and never got to know him. He said, she said. I was also referring to his statement that Deion could have been more compassionate. Maybe what Deion was doing by telling people to hit the portal was testing them to see if they would fight for their role. If not he got his answer, if so, then he also got his answer.

I have no idea what did or did not happen. But to just assume that this guys word is gold is somewhat naive. He could have just been a soft kid who could have pushed back on being told to hit the portal. Or maybe Deion is a huge idiot. Either way, I feel like people jump to conclusions assuming the "victim" in the these media narratives are always truly a victim. When often we find out later they were simply lying, irresponsible or something else.

If Deion truly handled it the way the kid said, then yeah, there is blame to be assigned to him. If Deion never intended to give the kid a shot regardless, then yes.

I am 100% on board with this. The optics are absolutely terrible, and this is coming off of a spring game that drew 24,000 people in the rain on top of all the attention they'd gotten last year. It's just stupid.

He's putting way too much toxic juju out into the public. Zero chance based on what I've seen that as a father or high school coach I'd want to send any players to him at this stage. The majority of people don't want to be treated like shit and the same majority don't think treating others like shit is cool either. I have zero doubt there are a select few that admire it, but they're in the minority. The message he was conveying a year ago is not what's actually happening from what we can tell. Plenty of kids out there need a swift kick in the ass as a form of tough love, but you don't need to belittle and humiliate people.

The way they're doing it is one thing, but how he appears to be treating people is something else and it's bad from what we can tell. Not to mention NFL teams are probably looking at it and wondering if they want the baggage that comes with Shedeur. For all the bullshit spewed into the atmosphere about Caleb Williams, Shedeur has some serious red flags surrounding him now too and it appears a bit more serious than mom hugging and nail polish. Just a thought.

Really think his string of tweets today sealed his fate, maybe as early at the end of this year. CU admin aren’t going to put up with this.

I think Shadeur is a pretty good P4 QB as well. I would not take him over Leanard.

Right now, the only guy I might take before Shedeur as a 2025 Draft prospect is Carson Beck.

The assumption was Shedeur wasn't going to be able to make the jump from HBCU to the Pac 12. He did that emphatically with a stat line of 3230/27-3/69% at Colorado. His OL had what Peyton Manning might call "protection issues." Sanders, being the son of an NFL HOF, has access to people like Tom Brady, Troy Aikman, etc. That kind of thing matters.

Regardless of the competition, Sanders has attempted more than double the amount of passes Leonard has. I like Leonard, but I don't know nearly enough about him compared to Sam Hartman and Shedeur Sanders just based on the filmable reps they've all taken.
Haven't been on much since this discussion. My reasoning for taking Leanard over SS is mostly based on fit. I don't think any of us know which of the two is the better QB right now, but in my eyes Leanard seems to be the better teammate and competitor.

Shedeur is trying his best to prove me right.

It already happened last year. They had a target on them when they went into Oregon.

Georgetown Hoops, Miami Football, The Fab Five backed up the trash talk and beat you. Colorado, up to this point, have not won more than they've lost.

I wanted prime to succeed so bad at Colorado just because of how fun it would have been to watch but im now like 90% convinced this whole thing will go down as a disaster.

That aside though shedeur is so obviously better than leonard

It’s like he’s bi-polar going from saying all the right things & being that HC/mentor-figure to going back to Prime Time from Florida St. I

I say this as someone who is not sold on Leonard...Shedeur may have a better arm, but he's not a better QB than Leonard. He's definitely not a better person than Leonard. I don't want asshats on my team giving the university a bad name, I don't care how good people think they are. You can be good without being a prick.

I just don't agree when taking all factors into consideration. Shedeur has better arm talent. They are both great athletes. Leanard is a better running QB (his decision making on when to run or not is spectacular). Leanard is a million times better teammate and his on field presence is better than Shedeur's is.

Agree...........Lou's first meeting with the team he got on a number of guys for slouching in their chairs and not paying attention. He showed tough love, but he didn't push half the team off the roster.

Any NFL will want to stay far away from the Sanders family unless they love drama

We need more Dallas Golden's and less Dylan Edwards'. I also prefer my players to be able to create coherent sentences. Listening to some schools players is second hand embarrassing.

Colorado made their bed with this one, they let it become p=Prime's Colorado not Colorado's Prime.

Just catching up. Wow. Yeah that's not good. That Athletic story made Deion look not great. Airing his shit out like that probably got under his skin. But punching down at a kid who transferred out is a low-class move no matter what he said to a reporter. I hoped Sanders was better than that.

We often forget these are kids. I know I'm guilty of that at times. But he comes off as someone that can dish it out but can't take it.
