Probably? I was just stating a few of what I feel are positives they do. There's definitely ways to codify the protections. I don't know if that's part of the plans to get rid of the department. I would hope so and hope they're done at the federal level.
Andrew Johnson started the DOE. I think it started at the cabinet level, but was relegated to agency level soon after. Carter changed it back to a cabinet level. As RDU mentioned, there is a lot of fat at most agencies where you can cut a lot out of they really wanted to.

Fully agree on cutting back government fat. My issue is when it will negatively impact people. I'm as big of a fan of a smaller government as everyone else. Their current voucher plan is going to have a huge negative impact on certain demographics.

No reason to question these celebrities backing of Harris when they are getting paid 20 million to appear. Oprah getting a million just to show up. In reality maybe that was a discount rate. Given that the campaign is in debt that same amount, surely these loyal soldiers would return their payments.

WTF is Oprah going to do with a million when she's worth three billion? You would think that if these celebs were so concerned about Trump winning they would be happy to volunteer themselves to the cause.

Am I the only one who thought that these celebrities were ***volunteering*** because they supposedly cared about the issues? Holy shit....

Make all campaign donations and expenditures public so we can see who actually supports who, and what the candidates truly value spending on. This is just outrageously bad spending by her

"I am endorsing Kamala because if he wins, it is the end of democracy, female reproductive rights, and freedom as we know it. Now please pay me $1,000,000"

Maybe they weren’t that concerned?

It's definitely fucked up, wrong and immoral. But I'm not seeing much difference between this and Elon. And he stands to benefit financially more than almost anyone

He also stood to be investigated and destroyed had it gone the other way.

Because he was here and working illegally at one point. I'm just staying similarities. I think both are in the wrong. But one is going to end up making billions. He made a good investment and it's going to pay off for him, but it's no unreasonable to raise concerns with both situations. He's also done some extremely shady stuff internationally previously with the whole Ukraine starlink black sea incident. If we're going to get upset about celebrities making money off of who they endorse we should do it both ways

My kids go to public school in a suburb of Cincinnati. I love their school, teachers, friends they've made there. Unfortunately, the schools have been turned into more political fodder for talking heads and subsequently the disillusioned followers of those talking heads (on both sides). As a result, our school system cannot pass a levy to stay afloat. 3 election cycles, three failed. It's disgusting what we've allowed to be ruined by politics.

Beyoncé must have had tiered pricing.

5 minute speech - 1 million
1 song - 2 million
30 minute concert - 10 million

Harris must’ve went the budget route

It's literally the opposite. Elon is "paying" Trump (donating to campaign).

Kamala is paying Beyonce.

To be fair, I thought both candidates would destroy the federal budget. Trumps out here passing out stuff like he's a Democrat.

Not arguing your point, but let's be honest. There's a lot more people on both sides than just Musk contributing in hopes of getting their back scratched. They just don't tweet a hundred times a day.

I agree, I think its all wrong. Musk is a very unique circumstance tho and shouldn't be judged through the same lense as others.
