Way over my head!
Q.E.D.
That's not going to go well.
Let me check with Kuehnja.
Both our lines played great games tonight. We protected Rees against aggressive pressure, and blew running holes. We brought lots of pressure without blitzing and generally stuffed their run and contained on the edge. I'll take it, any time.
lol. As expected
Rees also never seems to take plays off like some of our more talented players. I'll give him that. He certainly tries. And he even has glimpses of a good QB. Unfortunately, he's average. ND fans aren't going to be happy with average. And Rees is in a tough spot of getting an opportunity to dream of and receiving hate for his limited ability.
It's not a big deal. I sometimes can't do it for various reasons. I started the first "Post Game Observations" thread, back in 2007, although it was actually titled "Thoughts on the BC game". I usually am a little behind, because I try to wait until they post the post game stats on und.com. That way, I can go through and take the strictly emotional observations out.
Don't you dare bash Natty. Natty kegs were my college experience, and it was phenomenal.
I will give Diaco huge credit for making 2nd half adjustments.
Carlo/Fox played better than the MLBs in the 1st half, and he started running 'stunts' with the DL, which generated inside pressure. Rather than the DEs running themselves out of the play, they bull rushed inside and look what it did.
Kuehnja is very happy with Diaco, especially because he showed that he can make in game adjustments which has not been his strength.
The offense put up 30 against a top 25 team that many people predicted we'd lose to (including the entire TV crew).
Tommy threw 3 TDs...and, yes, a terrible INT. Just awful. But, as you'll notice, their QB did the same.
We're a good team.
Why not? I'm as objective as it gets! I give credit where credit is due.
I have no idea how you can make this claim.

You think Diaco's strength is in game adjustments?
We have won or tied the second half in every game this year. EVERY GAME.

He's the best we've got. He's doing the best he can. He isn't great but isn't horrible. Its best people just shut the **** up and deal with it, the season is half over. He won't be here to bitch about next year.
We have won the second half 5 times this year and tied once.
We beat Navy by 40 last year. Turn the damn page.
LOL, I've never heard of a QB taking a play off
When was the last time we lost the second half of a close game? Good third quarters have been a trademark in recent years.

Defensive line was much much better tonight obviously.
Our safeties are just pathetic.
Tommy was just, well, Tommy. You aren't really going to get anything different from him.
I am ready for Corey and Will to get more routes. Chris Brown has been very disappointing this year and Davaris just loses interest on a lot of plays.
Fresh out of the oven Lax

I don't understand why it was frustrating.
South Carolina barely beat unranked Kentucky.
Oklahoma had a rough time with unranked TCU.
Oklahoma State just about lost to unranked Kansas State.
It took Georgia overtime to beat unranked Tennessee.
UCLA had big trouble with unranked Utah.
But unranked Notre Dame beating #22 Arizona State (the 6.5 point favorite) is frustrating?
I just love the activity of this board when we win. It's so much calmer.
We beat a ranked team tonight who was supposed to beat us by a touchdown and held one of the most prolific offenses in the country to a reasonable output. Where are the Diaco haters? Where are the Longo haters (we won the 2nd half again, by the way)? It's baffling!
Diaco's strength has not been in game adjustments.
We've also given up more defensive points or the same in the 2nd half of 3/6 games this year. The stat you brought up is irrelevant to your point.
Diaco has been very vanilla at times and hasn't made great in-game adjustments at his time at ND.
I pointed that he did a great job of adjusting at half-time this game. I think you're dead wrong if you think he makes great in game adjustments, but let's agree to disagree.
