Rushing Attack

The 279 rushing yds jumps up ND's season average from 181 yds/ game to 195 yds/game.

ND will probably rise 8-10 slots to around 37th or so in the NCAA Rushing Ranking.

Sacks will rise to about 25th.

Don't get so sensitive about a word. I can't say that our fan base can be retards but you can single Tommy out and say he sucks? Talk about delusional. Our running game did save our ***, I'm not arguing that. However, Tommy did what he had to do to win this game. He made plays when we needed him to and he turned the ball over just once. We don't need Tommy the hero, we need Tommy the game manager. The D and running game (at times) have carried us this season. We all know that. But, since Rees sucks, I imagine you're a much better QB. Go win us some football games, pal. As for your uncle, that's awesome. I worked with mentally challenged adults for almost 2 years and people with Downs are some of the happiest and most fun people I know.

That TD not getting overturned was pretty funny... because if that same situation had happened in favor of ND you would be hearing about it on ESPN for a week about how lucky we are, etc. etc.

That TD happened on 1st or 2nd down. They might well have scored anyway. Glad it didn't matter. Another W - 7-0 headed into Okla. Go Irish

Never claimed I was, but I don't have to be. Tommy did all it seemed possible for him to do to survive a loss. I'm glad he was good enough (didn't make enough mistakes to lose us the game) but I'm not going to give him praise like a lot of people on here. He was average at best. That's not going to get us to an NC. I find it strange that you would casually speak this degrading word having worked with people with downs for 2 years, but I still thank you for your work. They are the most innocent decent people I know, my uncle is 43 now and still going strong.

How great did I proclaim it to be? As I recall, I simply said that it didn't suck. ND had 2 100 yard rushers, so his play calling could not have sucked.

Well, "the same damn running play" accounted for almost 300 yards rushing today. Why change if the defense can't stop it. The only time ND was successful running wide today was GA III 2 yard TD run. Every other time ND tried to run wide today it was either no gain or a loss.

Today was the first time since Lou and Joe Moore that I actually felt, for the most part, that ND could walk up to the line of scrimmage and basically tell BYU which way they were going to run and BYU still wouldn't be able to stop it.

I was in the live chat, listening to more than one person rail on about how Kelly's play calling sucked, and Kelly can't coach for sh!t, etc........ those are the people I was referring to. I hope that they feel very foolish for having said those things. Kelly stuck with his gameplan, and it worked. Another week, another win.

I'm 0-7 baby and loving it. NOW GET ON THE BULL IN NORMAN AND LET IT BUCK. These guys have done enough now no matter what happens now. Something special brewing here guys and once again I'm picking OU. Could it be 0-8 for me. They''ll want blood in Norman but if Notre Dame can weather the early storm this bunch of Irish may shock the college football world. I was hoping all week for these guys to be 7-0 going to Norman to watch the nations eyes now turn to the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Hell they cant beat Oklahoma in Norman can they? Hats off to the O line for the 4th quarter and Wood and Riddick for waking up the echos.

Rees was no where near good today. His throws were not accurate most of the day and the catches that Eiffert had were all him. His feet look like they weigh 25 pounds a piece. Without a running game today, the Irish had NO chance.

Manti is the heart of the defense, but Riddick is the heart of the offense. The guy ran hard today. He's the only back that reminds me of a Holtz back at this time.

The crowd was great in the 2nd half. Really loud when it mattered.

Rees' throw to TJ Jones in the northwest endzone reminded me of his limitations. He simply does not have the arm strength. We are going to have to have Golson play well to beat Oklahoma.

Kelly did a good job of running the football and relying on field position and his defense in the second half. This game didn't have to be close, but poor Red Zone management in the 1st half followed by missed field goals kept them in the game.

7-0 baby!
