The thing that most impressed me about the freshman DBs is that they continue to make plays on the ball when it's in the air.

Also nice that having to hear all week about how MSU hasn't allowed an offensive touchdown we hold them to zero.

I find it somewhat amusing that the Irish hating Big 10 boards I visit are in meltdown mode with the disappointing start to their seasons. Only Northwestern and Minnesota remain unbeaten among the teams that aren't under sanctions, and it's unfortunately just a matter of time for those programs I'm afraid. I say only the Irish hating Big 10 boards because not all of them carry such distain for the Irish, but I do relish when the haters cry in dismay as Sparty was their last line of defense.

thats awsome...but then I read down the stat sheet...WE BEAT A REAL TEAM IN PUNT RETURN YARDAGE! 16 yds for ND...6 for Sparty...another 2 yds and we would have trippled them up...

They're lucky they played the worst team in FBS this week. Even Air Force gave them all they could handle last week lol.
I thought I was excited all week for this game, I'm already chomping at the bit for next week!
Good athlete. Looks like he could be a contributor this year.

104 yards over the past 2 games.
Schumate is going to be a stud. The kid has been playing very well.
Holy crap do randoms come out of the woodwork for the post game threads. Why do I bother to come here.

^^^^. This above. Period , no more conversation. EG's ability to extend plays and keep drives going was key. Plus, he threw the ball away well. I realize against a great d like this he didn't make all plays, but he didn't force things and our D is top 10.....period. Outstanding, play in and play out.
MSU is the best D we will see, until Okla. wow, iam so impressed with our ability to finally make a statement, and so proud of the entire program. It wasn't going to be pretty....we all knew that...but we finally took a step forward. We r not back (just yet), but boy was this a huge win.
Manti -u have more heart, determination, and guts than anyone. You are a leader beyond compare, and our prayers are with you.

A ton of freshman shout outs from the announcers-they played a big part for this game. Very nice to see.

Was nice to see ND put Purdue away and then grind this one out.
Will be even nicer to see them sustain this grind for 3 weeks in a row next week against Michigan. Looking forward to another W.

Can we PLEASE not get overconfident against Michigan.... we can beat them as long as we don't get cocky and assume it's a win. Let's remember how the last few seasons have gone, and keep throwing everything we have at them even if we're up on them by a bunch of points. I love this team, but I'd hate for us to slip into overconfident favorite mode because of this win
