That was stressful. I'm tired.
That defense was awesome. It took a lot of guts to do what they did. Very cool.

Glad to have a win.

PLEASE get a REAL offensive coordinator this offseason.

I really think the offense was solid today. When Tommy was in, we moved the ball like crazy. Play calling was diverse and interesting.

Would be interested to hear your complaints.

Nope completely sober. I think FSU, if they played like tonight, would be Bama and easily.

Totally agree. Oregon, Alabama, and FSU are on a different tier right now. I would slot the teams Oregon-FSU-Alabama... but maybe FSU-Oregon-Alabama... straight up, if either Oregon or FSU gets shut out for Alabama this year that will be a joke. The SEC is total garbage right now. Like really, really bad from top to bottom outside of Alabama. They'll probably a Maty Mauk led Missouri in the championship game. Can't make this crap up.

What a waste of a football scholarship! Pathetic effort on part of a backup quarterback. Andrew, you do not belong on a football field!

Wrong IMO. He's Irish so we should be more respectful to him. At this point he should be better developed and more prepared, so I say coaches need to be held accountable for that. It's not a secret that if Tommy went down, Hendrix was number two. It doesn't appear they've been preparing a plan b and if they have, they suck at preparing plan b's.

Don't get me wrong, I think FSU is really good. Probably the 3rd best team in the country. I just think Bama would beat them.

It's absolutely amazing how quiet this site is when we win. Imagine if their kicker had made his two FGs. This place would be lit up with people like NDOM and others...

Kelly sucks. Longo should be fired. Diaco is over his head...

I see. My bad.

Either way, I think that they've got a tough path.

South Carolina and A&M still to go. But even with two in conferences losses they basically own all important tiebreakers. All other teams in the SEC East already have two conference losses.

They only way they get bumped out is losing to South Carolina + A&M AND South Carolina wins out... or something truly crazy happens with Tennessee... or Missouri just flat out tanks and loses 3+ of their next 5.

Kind of exhausted. Special teams have not been special. Was a little disappointed in the o-line play. they just don't take over the game when we need them to. I get that SC filled the box with bodies but we had so many 3rd and twos and couldn't get it.

LOVED how the Defense stepped up in second half. Jaylon is getting better every game. Tuitt and Nix lived up to the hype. We still need to try to block a punt at some point.

Tackling in the first half sucked...drove me crazy.

and Michigan State has only one loss -- to ND.

Yeah, no joke as shaky as ND has been... we've played 5 legitimate teams so far. Almost no other teams have done that.

We beat a very good ASU team because of Shamrock Series magic. We beat a good MSU team because MSU's offense was really that bad. We beat USC despite a ton of adversity.

We lost to a 1-loss Michigan team in the Big House that played perfect while our D was still very much a work in progress. And we lost to a mediocre Oklahoma team because that's football... big turnovers, bad plays = loss.

That's not bad. Pre-season most reasonable people would've taken 5-2 against our opening slate. It sets us up for 9-3 (which would exceed Vegas expectations) with potential for 10-2 and a very unlikely chance of 8-4.

Soy contento.

He has had three full seasons of reps and half of this year. He has been the #2 both his freshman year and all of this year. He has played in a lot of actual games for us.

If it isn't clear that he isn't a competent QB by now, then you are kidding yourself.

What Im saying is that he can play in a role for us. The offense would look much different, but against teams where our offense can dominate in the run game he can be a decent starter.

- Andrew Hendrix looked absolutely inept tonight. He has absolutely no confidence. Just looks lost out there.

- Cam McDaniel is the man. If only he was two-tenths of a second faster.

- TJ Jones was solid.

- DaVaris Daniels started off really hot and then fell off at some point in the second quarter. Not really his fault, though.

* Troy Niklas will never be the studly receiver that Eifert was, but he is turning into a damn fine TE and may end up being the more complete player when all is said and done.

- Stephon Tuitt was a monster. Unstoppable.

- Jaylon Smith is going to be a superstar. So talented.

- Is it just me or is Carlo Calabrese blowing up a lot of runs lately?

- Solid effort from the secondary with a few lapses. Tough to gauge their performance without a healthy Lee, however.

- Punt coverage was HORRIBLE.

Was able to watch the game at buffalo wild wings with the lady. Followed the live chat on our way home to find out what was going on. You guys make me more nervous than actually watching the game! I feel both scared because Tommy got hurt and Hendrix is well....bad and kinda snarky because now I think all the Tommy haters are realizing despite all of his short comings (and yes I will admit during his time here he did have a lot of costly turnovers that cost us big games) that having Tommy under center isnt the worst thing that could happen.

Just 3 weeks ago, there were several suggesting ND would be 3-4 or at best 4-3 right now. There were multiple predictions of 0-3, or at best 1-2, over the recent 3 game stretch

Opening drive of the game is what this offense should look like every week except for how it was finished. Would have preferred seeing Atkinson get those carries close to the endzone (bigger body and better burst to find a hole and hit it).

Defense carried this team to victory

Hendrix has no confidence running anything resembling a productive offensive scheme. Is our playbook so difficult that a 4th year player with game experience cant make us look half way competent?

Hope all recruits in attendance enjoyed this Irish win and could see themselves in gold and blue beating usc for years to come!

Thank God I did not have to suffer through a loss with a sea of SC alumni. They are insufferable. Defense was great (with some tackling exceptions) and the offense with TR moved the ball.
Somehow we will need to get the RBs with the ball in space. Screens, delayed handoffs, something. But if AH is the starter next week, he better be more confident in getting his throws up. It seems he is fearful of interceptions and grounding the ball.

I liked the win though. Shut up the loonies.

LOVED the uptempo offense at the start of the game. No more Tommy Manning hopefully for the rest of the season.
