A few offhand thoughts:
1. Golson played hot and cold, obviously. He was late on almost every throw that wasn't perfect, if you know what I mean.
2. There were too many dropped passes, even considering the weather.
3. OLine recovered enough to be decent against a very mature, very good defensive line, though Anderson was a beast.
4. Can't say enough about the defense and Van Gorder. Absolutely excellent. One Stanford TD was a gift (after the TO), the other, well, that was a good Stanford drive. But if the missed sack hadn't been missed, I doubt Stanford even scores the second TD.
5. Again, about the defense: as young as they are, and as mature as Stanford was, I kept waiting for our guys to wear down and get pushed around. It never happened. Great credit to our guys.
6. Stanford can cry, but ND outplayed Stanford, I thought, pretty roundly. Two missed holds, a gift TD and a blown Red Zone opp, against a great defense and an experienced team, and the Irish won. And it wasn't about the rain, or at least, it didn't help us more than Stanford; the Indian are not some great offensive juggernaut that was slowed by bad weather. I think this was a great win.
