I mean, I'd make an argument towards being in a CFP bracket right now. We have won two games by 31, one against a team that won 10 games last year and one against Michigan. Right now, not very many teams have a resume that stacks up against ND's. The thing is that it's early so it's essentially meaningless to do right now.

Exactly, and we always have a Top-5 SOS. If we are for real, we'll be fine... Alabama is like #95 or something. If they lose one and we lose one, somehow we're worse. I don't get it. Oh, wait... yes... media bias and not hard numbers.

I can say only what I could possibly muster walking out of the stadium after losing my voice, and that was 'Wow. Wow, wow, wow.' I almost felt bad for the Michigan fans because we've all been there. But keyword was almost.

Pretty sure I said 'fvck Michigan' 200+ times on campus today...

So, umm, what happened? Did ND win?

Congrats guys. I know spanking UM 31-0 must've felt especially sweet. Seeing OSU go down in flames tonight probably didn't hurt your feelings either.

- Great game for Golson. He is on the Heisman watch.

- RBs were unable to run due to a poor OL. Nick Martin had a rough night.

- Love the way Fuller sells his patterns, he just wins with his release. Soft hands though. Carlisle with some really difficult grabs.

- DL won the game. Jarron Jones with his best game and it is not even close. He had the talent, but yesterday he finally showed strenght and toughness. Day is a beast. Okwara is so underrated. Trumbetti looks good. Cage with a huge role and playing like a senior. Hill looks like a BEAST. Even Utupo had some nice moments.

- Jaylon Smith is good at football

- Luke will be better than Russel. Shumate and Farley played very well.

- Tranquill closing speed is unreal. He will be a starter soon. Already looks better than Onwualu and i think he can play there.

- Morgan did not played a single snap. I expected a larger role for him. Looks like the staff have a lot of trust in Smichdt.

Great, great game. What a time to be alive!!!

Great game. Great feeling

What I didn't like:

Not much offensive consistency in the second half (that will kill us in tight games)

The offensive line was getting no push and our run game was awful. We couldn't have rushed for over 70 yards.

Drops. Drops. Drops. I think we've already had more drops this year than all of last year combined. Have to get this under control.

But a great game to move forward.

No reason to show stuff to future opponents when the game is already on lock.

- I think i have a man crush on Riggs
- If Gardner wasnt so elusive we would have had at least 5 more sacks. That pocket was in shambles. In BVG we trust
- Jesus christ imagine if/when we get the suspended players back!? And just imagine the beat down we could have potentially laid with them on the field tonight???

Boys enjoy this one, who knows when there will be another win this satisfying.

Thanks! Congrats on surviving Florida Atlantic. Kudos on scheduling such tough OOC opponents!

Are you waking up yet? Stayed up till 4am watching it on the laptop here in Ireland and had to be in work for 9 this morning. Spent all morning reading the blogs and did no work. Life is so good, if exhausting.

holy cow........as soon as I woke up I logged in to just make sure this really happened......IT DID!! FVCK MICHIGAN and I hope Brady Hoke is gone soon.......he is a classless A-hole and got what he deserved last night. Eat Sh!t Skunkbears I hope they implode.......although it would be in our best interest if they actually play well, but screw it, I hate them, they can implode!!!

Everything seems brighter and the sun isn't even up here yet.

Awesome win!

Before the NFL season kicks off this morning, I'm gonna rewatch the game. I'm curious to see now that I'm a little hungover and not drunk... how good do we look compared to how bad they really are.

Getting up this morning and savoring the win with a nice cup of coffee and a dish of Fock Michigan.

So many positives from this game it's hard to remember them all. The defense is coming around quicker than anticipated. I hope we get up big and early on the Boilers so we get the youngsters more playing time.

Having said that and as already been pointed out by many, there are a number of things that could have been better, but they weren't major issues. This gives the staff something to work on this week.

This start couldn't have set up any better for us. Two good wins, then Purdue, then a bye week. If we get our missing players back (at least most of them) from injuries and suspensions then we go into the teeth of our schedule fresh, with more depth, and more cohesion.

The improvement with the defense in one week was impressive. The young guys came to play and I was really happy to see Shumate's athleticism all over the field.

I'm not predicting anything but damn, we look good with a lot of good potential circumstances in the next three weeks.

We may 2 of the only fans not hung-over this morning. What a perfect day of college football!

Ohio State and MSU go down. I even liked USC beating Stanford while both teams looked sloppy and Haden called his objectivity into question.

As for the running game, UM was stacking the box and has very good D-tackles--its not like this is E. Michigan.

The D gives up some plays but they are fun to watch and the players look like they are having a great time out there!

Was anyone at the game last night?

There have been a few remarks about us not having playmakers on defense [except the usual exception for Jaylon --- even Day was forgotten by one post]. I'm seeing something ENTIRELY different. I believe the Gestalt combination of our first "two" DLines "is" one gigantic playmaker, and that Riggs, Luke, Farley, Redfield, Tranquill, [and maybe Shumate is getting there] are all playmakers in the DB.

Extremely good athleticism and Brian Van Gorder gives us an almost uncountable number of playmakers, who are also extremely difficult to account for by the opposing QB, once again due to BVG.

We will give up the occasional play, but My Lord we will make a lot of plays ourselves!! Go BVG!!

As bad as #OhioState looked last night, I'd like to thank #NotreDame for making #Michigan look worse.
OSU Alum....

Also seeing Urban meyer's coaching and development being called into question. LOL

Yup I was! Single best experience of my life as a football fan. Walking out of the stadium people were screaming, cheering "WE ARE ND!" louder than I have ever heard it cheered. And out in the parking lots it seemed like everyone was just in a daze, totally unsure of whether or not that ass whooping had really just happened. Stadium was rocking, our boys put on a hell of a show, and Michigan went out with a whimper. Couldn't have asked for a better way to send off the series with the skunkbears!

The pain is real folks. Twitter is buzzing with stuff like this
"Hurts to lose the all time winning % lead to #NotreDame too. Can't throw that in people's face anymore who question our all time wins stat"

I don't recall who it was (a little intoxicated) but why wasnt a helmet to helmet called when UM offensive lineman cracked one of our dlineman in the helmet. NBC announcers even applauded it as a good block and how this is football. I'll have to go back and watch it I believe it was in the first couple drives UM had.
