So you agree that there are situations where it's OK for a fan to tweet a recruit, even though it should only be done in certain situations by responsible people?

I'm glad we agree.

And your comment: 'in most cases... no'.

I totally agree.

Not sure what we're arguing about now that we've established the above.

No… are you this dense? I have explained VERBATIM several times that guys like TP aren't just "fans". You are a fan. I am a fan. TP is not just a fan. So quit using him as an example.

Your opinion of what is acceptable is universally disagreed with on this board. Every moderator, every daily poster in fact, vehemently disagrees with you.

But keep trying to twist it until you feel good about it.

1) Whiskeyjack is a fan (nothing more that I know of?).

2) Who tweeted ROI information to a recruit.

3) You don't have a problem with it.

What am I missing?

So Jarron Jones (sp?) looked great. Glad we have three years left.

The number of drives killed by passing on 1st down was staggering. We went away from the run too much.

Coldest I have ever been.

Without being familiar with the exact situation, I think someone said earlier that the recruit asked for the information, and whiskey tweeted it to him, in response to his question.

That's much different than an unsolicited tweet to a kid, to my way of thinking.

Great effort by Cam. TF showed flashes of brilliance. He will be special.

TJ Jones will be missed.

O line had a great effort in pass and run blocking.

Stanford is beatable.

Great win. Go Irish.

Hegarty played well after Martin went down. We have a ton of depth on the line. Should be the same next year.

I can see where that can be confused.

I've never tweeted a recruit, and there are a TON of people who should never tweet recruits. Period.

But kids love twitter and recruits often favor/retweet solid, harmless tweets, such as 'enjoy your trip, Go Irish!' or 'hope you enjoyed the game! ND nation would love to have you in the family!', etc., I have ZERO problem with.

Again, 99% of people cannot draw the line and so it's best as a rule of thumb to not tweet recruits, but people who can tweet something like the above and leave it at that (i.e., not engage in discussion, not ask questions, not harass, etc.) I have no problem with.

If you say 'no way, nuhu, never', that's fine, but I'm not ready to say there's no possible way to tweet a recruit responsibly. I don't think that's true (examples above + whiskey's example).

You won't change my mind on this, so don't get your undies in a bundle trying to.

Have a good night all!

Great win!

So I guessed you missed the post a few posts back when I addressed this already? Whiskey consulted several people that had had actual contact as well as a bunch of other respected posters insisting he do so.

But keep making excuses. Keep ignoring blatant information that has been presented. Keep ignoring basic common fucking sense.

Not sure how attacking Whiskey and TP makes you look better after being banned either. Attacking two longtime, solid posters (one of which, is a mod) doesn't do anything but prove that maybe your ban should have been a bit longer. You obviously didn't learn a damn thing and came back with the same exact rhetoric that led to your banning in the first place.

And what if Whiskey didn't 'consult' others and tweeted ROI information anyways?

Would it have been wrong?

Is it illogical to believe that another fan could possibly operate with the same amount of intelligence, responsibility, and discretion as Whiskeyjack?

Or do you still agree that there's no possible situation where it's OK to tweet a fan? Zero. None.

Lol.

I'm not attacking either one. I've openly said and reiterated that I HAVE ZERO PROBLEM WITH THEIR TWEET(S).

I'm simply using them as an example of responsible, intelligent fans who know how to draw the line and not cross it (hint hint, I'm praising their actions).

It's the OPPOSITE of attacking them.

You need to go to bed.

He wouldn't have because he's not a fucking idiot.

You on the other hand... The jury may have run off.

Chill out bros! We should all be enjoying another successful season, (albeit not as good as last year).

I'm currently watching Charlie Weis get his stool pushed in by Iowa State. ISU has won one game prior to this.

Things aren't too bad after all.

You need to eat shit. I'm not the imbecile just coming back from being banned for rascism and immediately attacking people. Maybe you didn't take a long enough rest.

Fortunately for you, the mods will likely clean up your posts so you don't have to wake up and see how foolish you look right now.

You've failed to answer half of my questions or address my points, you've irrationally claimed that I'm 'attacking TP and Whiskey' when it's clear that that's the opposite of the truth (I'm using them as examples of acting intelligently and responsibly), and it appears that your agenda is strictly to pick a fight.

Frankly, I'm not interested.

Great win! Have a good night.

I thought this was the BYU postgame thread, not the "pretentiously entitled, pathetic internet rivalry, never ending grudge thread" thread

Haha... Read over the posts. I'm not the one that looks foolish. I'm also not the one that picked the fight. You addressed me first, I broke off EVERY SINGLE POINT you attempted to make and am also the one between us not just coming off a ban for rascism. I think it's pretty obvious who the consistent idiot is here.

I don't even care if the mods clean it up, as I pretty much exposed the illogical and ignorant nature of all of your recent opinions. I would tread lightly here, Kuenja. I'm not the one skating on thin ice here.

Van Noy didn't do a damn thing today. 2 tackles, great job by the tackles and tight ends. By the way, Texas A&M will probably drop somewhere around 18 after being trounced by LSU. A&M is now 8-3, same as us. Their wins are Rice, Sam Houston, SMU, Ark, Ole Miss, Vandy, UTEP, and Miss St. They blew out all of those teams except for Arkansas (+12), Ole Miss (+3) and Miss St. (+10). Their ranking is based purely upon only losing by 7 to Bama and 4 to Auburn. Now I'm not saying that ND could hang with A&M - in fact, I shudder to think how badly Manziel would torch our defense if Taysom Hill can pick up 100 yards rushing and with Mike Evans being covered by Bennett and Farley. But ND is an afterthought in the national football conversation at 8-3 while A&M is still considered a Top 25 team. Ridiculous.

I'm just amazed ND's wins over three ranked teams is give such little currency, A&M aside. I mean, even before ND's loss to Pitt, Az St was ranked ahead of ND with the same record and having lost head to head (and ignoring ND's win over one-loss Michigan St). Makes no sense.

I liked the part when Jones blocked the field goal. That was neat.

Jones was great. Makes me a lot less nervous about the D-line next year. That's his second blocked kick right? Redfield, Shumate, and Hardy are picking up experience and hopefully that shows in a good way next year. I'm also excited about Keivarae and Cole Luke locking down their respective sides of the field. ILB still really concerns me though. But I do think this defense can be top 50, and if the offense is as good as I think it can be with Golson, Davaris, Corey, etc., we could be a top 15 team next year. Really glad we got this win. Win or lose vs. Stanford, 8-4 is what I predicted when I learned Golson was out. To reach that with the backup QB and with all the injuries we had is very impressive and hope-inspiring.
