I could have bought tickets to those games yesterday all the way up to kickoff. What do you mean not available?

That’s the point. The “opposing team treats ND like Mecca that’s why they invade the stadium” excuse is not true. ND fans just love selling their tickets and have no desire week to week to fill the stands compared to most other elite programs, or even most SEC schools. Yes there are locational/institutional challenges but it’s still kind of embarrassing

I have now heard on 2 post-game podcasts that last year, the O line players went to Hiestand during the summer and even during the season for coaching. He was very involved. He is not involved this year, and we are seeing what a Quinn coached O line is like.

Yes, at Notre Dame, the offensive line coaching is so poor that players were getting coaching on their own.

Hire Chris Watt yesterday. Move the buddy hire back to an analyst role.

Yeah, that's just an unacceptable situation. Swarbrick needs to step in on this situation and with Del and Rees.

Heard them mentioned this on the Shamrock, had to rewind a little because I assumed I heard it wrong and it was so casually brought up. Nope. Sure enough, that's what they said. That's some damning s*** right there. I'm not sure if Chris Watt is the answer, but I think it's pretty obvious that it's not Jeff Quinn.

Just finished sitting thru the first half of the game and Coan is way too inconsistent and we miss out on too many yards that’s mobile QB can provide. Didn’t really see any drops in the first half. We have had some decent run plays compared to previous weeks. Offensive play calling stinks. D played good in first half until that final drive. The first half turnovers were absolute killers and other than that one Cincy drive we looked like a superior team.
second half D looked softer and our LBs are slow. What do Drew JD Bo and Jack have in common? They’re all slow. Marist would have made a speed difference.
TB made the wrong RPO decision on all 4 of the plays he ran it. He needs to be allowed to use all the plays he knows. Pyne will not win us every game left in the schedule. Weakest QB arm to start at ND. Yes, even weaker than the mighty one….TD Tommy.
lewis stinks but Gary doesn’t.

That’s another criticism I have for Tommy Rees. He runs long developing pass plays. Why? The o line can’t block. Cincy ran some quick plays to minimize the pash rush. We need to do the same.

Start from scratch. Fire BK and his entire staff. Also get rid of everyone except the freshman.

We can also tear the school down and move it to more fertile recruiting ground. Florida or California would work. TD Jesus overlooking the ocean? Pretty sweet.

The run plays are all delayed too. Or at least they feel that way when watching. Zero downhill rushes. Behind a garbage OLine.

Which episode was that? Is it post-Cincinnati?

Fire Kelly and get who? We all think Fickell is great because he beat ND yesterday. Getting a new HC guarantees nothing.

This board is acting like we are 1-3, this team is 3-1. We lost a lot from last year, including players and Coach Lea & this team minus a few hiccups is still winning games.

We should have lost to toledo and FSU was close. We are a lucky as hell 3-1. BK is going nowhere and that is fact. But we have hit our ceiling with him and it is frustrating that some fans refuse to see his deficiencies. Just because he is an improvement over the crap we had previously does not make him the best choice. He has played a historically weak schedule ( thanks ACC) and lucked out that SC cannot find a coach. We are stuck with him till he says so. And we will continue to have fans that make excuses for him all while Freeman is proving you can recruit elite talent to ND.

Sampson is a professional and when he criticizes the program I take it very seriously.

He and essentially every reporter covering ND has become more and more outspoken on the bullshit that was the Quinn hire. Prister said something like I don’t call for people’s jobs. But Quinn should not be coaching the offensive line at ND.

Someone might wanna let Crazy Balki in on the secret we all knew: if Quinn was a good Oline coach or position coach, he wouldn't have been an analyst for THREE YEARS waiting for Harry to leave for the NFL.

Right around the 19:30 mark of the post UC pod.

Fortuna and Sampson were talking about the positives of potentially hiring Chris Watt for OL coach and how the OL should not be this bad at ND. The lead in to the below was them talking about hiring Watt because he's been pretty good in a short time and is familiar with ND, etc, etc.

Fortuna said:

"I don't think I'm breaking any news here, Harry Heistand, I don't know if he is still in town, but, like, those guys on those good units would break off and go meet him in town for for pointers, um, hehe, after practice or even in season. Like, that guy still had a very strong influence on that program. I'm not sure if he still does now, but clearly whatever is going on there right now... (blah blah blah ND OL shouldn't be this bad)."

So, I'm not sure if the HH stuff really matters too much. The OL sucks really bad and that's on Quinn. They need a change, regardless, IMO.

Sorry guys, I too want Quinn gone, but I call bullshit on players seeing HH once he left. He lives two doors down from me and I see him quite often walking with his wife and have talked with him on several occasions. Used to see players at his house when he was the coach, haven’t seen any come over in quite awhile.

I really can’t understand the Chris Watt stuff. In this very thread and others all I read is complaining and complaining about nepotism hiring Rees and Quinn and then we’re gonna hire Watt to coach what SHOULD be one of the best OLs in the country based off what? Some GA work? A couple good podcast notes? Y’all breaking down Tulane OL film? Unless he’s the OL coach of less than 10 programs in the country (OU, Bama, UGA etc) ND has the entire country of OL coaches and NFL assistant OL coaches as possibilities.

I'm sad... just sad. I thought we were a top 10 team... for sure a top 15 team... not sure now. I think we have the talent but can't seem to bring it together? I hate these QB struggles! The path forward seems clear.

Cheers and Go Irish!!

Wow, if true (it is) that's quite an indictment on the program.
