Exactly like they did a couple of weeks ago beating a team at home 33-20 is a pretty good butt whooping. Margin of victory is 13 and home team only scored 20. Secondly if you approach analyzing games that way do you think NC state would beat Florida state if they played again because I certainly don't. Miami self-imposing bowl ban this year is crap. The penalties are ridiculous and to enforce it during a 7 win season is funny.

Good. They should do this to everyone that doesn't talk to the NCAA in these cases. Instead of facing the music, people like Cam Newton and Terrelle Pryor can just leave school and nothing can be done.

Please bury the Canes!

They aren't going to get much. They have already levied sanctions upon themselves, and this is nothing compared to Penn State. The NCAA should slap them with some hefty fines and maybe some scholarship loss, but it really won't be much. Plus I like Al Golden and think he is really turning things around down there. I also think it would be fun to see them become a powerhouse again as it only adds to college football when they are good(kinda like us).

I hope they get smacked just because their fan base, in most cases, is ridiculous, obnoxious, classless and proud of their teams rule breakings....I know I married into a family of cane fans (my wife one of the very few rational ones) and lived surrounded by em. Al Golden can find another job, I hear Philly is looking but otherwise **** the U!!

You forgot to mention that their fan base is mostly non-existent too.

Absolutely no offense to you, but I gotta disagree here, I remember when Miami was not even in the college football conversation and I am not that old. They are probably the first program to write the script of "relevancy" through corruption. That script has been re-written and performed all over the college football landscape. In my opinion their "relevancy" is exactly what is wrong with modern "amateur' athletics. They deserve, finally, to be punished.

Some how using prostitutes, strip clubs, free gambling with forgiveness of debts and under age drinking as recruiting and retaining tools doesn't appear quite right to me. I do believe paying all employed athletes a reasonable stipend is reasonable. And just like coaches, if they don't think the pay is enough, they should be free to sell their services to another bidder without sanctions.
And the schools should be taxed on the proceeds of their non-educational business.

Does "imminent" mean this decade. Not sure anymore. Hopefully it happens before NSD. What then for AQM if UM go BOOM.

Be patient we have only been waiting for a couple seasons now to hear what these allegations are.

From the article: This week (could receive notice), then 90 days to respond, then up to 6 months to decide. Yeah, imminent.

The NCAA could release the notice of allegations as early as this week, CBS reported.

Haith told ESPN.com in a text message that he has not received any notification from the NCAA on impending punishments.

"We are in constant contact (with) the NCAA but we have not yet received a notice of allegations," Haith wrote.

Two former Miami assistant coaches have been told of the unethical conduct charge, sources told The Associated Press. CBS reported that three assistants each face charges. Jake Morton is now at Western Kentucky, Michael Schwartz is at Fresno State, and Jorge Fernandez spent last season with Marshall.

Following an NCAA notice of allegations, Haith would have 90 days to respond, then would meet with the NCAA Committee on Infractions. There would then be up to six months for the NCAA to decide on any punishments.

Least earth shattering tweet of the day.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>RT @<a href="https://twitter.com/insidencaaf">insidencaaf</a> NCAA uncovers issue of improper conduct during itsMiami investigation-will review enforcement program: <a href="http://t.co/nARRS18y" title="http://ow.ly/h49h3">ow.ly/h49h3</a></p>— Bruce Feldman (@BFeldmanCBS) <a href="https://twitter.com/BFeldmanCBS/status/294141176330719232">January 23, 2013</a></blockquote>

So then there's this: the NCAA admits it's investigators used improper contact during the Miami investigation. No notice of allegation imminent until all facts are "uncovered"

The NCAA breaks the NCAA's rules now. Fitting.

Working with a sense of urgency, not so much.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>NCAA Pres: "I am angered and saddened by this situation. Trust and credibility are essential to our regulatory tasks."</p>— Bruce Feldman (@BFeldmanCBS) <a href="https://twitter.com/BFeldmanCBS/status/294143048328294401">January 23, 2013</a></blockquote>

Emmert: Investigators worked with Shapiro's lawyer to "improperly subpoena and depose witnesses" in bankruptcy case. Wow.

Wow. That is not good. Every investigator involved in this thing could be wiped out.

Edit: There's more...

Stewart Mandel ‏@slmandel
It gets worse. The NCAA actually had the Shapiro attorney on its payroll. "This is obviously a shocking affair, said Emmert.
