Ironic that while talking heads like Joy Reid and Wajahat Ali calling VA voters racist for voting for Youngkin they fail to acknowledge (as far as I”ve seen so far) that GOP elected the first African American woman to ever hold the Lt. Gov spot in Virginia and the first Hispanic AG of Virginia.

They have to stick to the story. Everyone who opposes them ever is racist. All they see and know is racism and it poured over into education and reached a tipping point where even their reliable voters called it out as bullshit. It was plain to see when they were staging their staffers as white supremacists at Youngkin rallies. It also looks like Biden's failures are going to drive a huge correction in 2022 and hopefully what momentum they had to continue spending like crazy is dead.

QAnon followers were in Dallas yesterday awaiting the return of JFK Jr.

Barely a blip on the radar of yesterday's news. I am trying to understand how this is actually real. It isn't a joke and I don't think it's funny. These people are serious.

I think the Republic is basically fucked.

QAnon is basically dead at this point.

One of my buddies was all in on a bunch of it for awhile. At some point, it clicks for folks. The JFK Jr. thing is probably a deal-breaker for a good chunk.

There is more than enough evidence to suggest it is far from dead. You still have people that believe Trump is actually running the government and will be installed again. The vaccine is Bill Gates poison. The JFK Jr. thing started back in 2019. Kids are being taught cannibalism in school. It is just beginning to evolve. The people who are a part of it are not only going anywhere, they're activists and running for office at the local and state level. Just getting started.

As for VA, the campaign had CRT at the center of it and white women went for the Republican in numbers better than Trump did a year ago. Democrats ran a Clintonian centrist that ran on a "Trump bad" platform and is now 1/3 in governor elections. Sooner or later they're going to have to learn.

Virginia Republicans set the path for 2022. Do not embrace nor condemn Trump, hammer CRT and the suburban white folk will come running back while rural numbers creep into the 80%+ range more and more. The inevitable shit show is coming and Democrats won't do anything about it.

Crazy vs Useless.

Youngkin projected now by everyone.

Curious what Lax and any other VA folks we got here are thinking?

I know the Dems tried tying him to Trump super hard but from the little bit I saw he seemed like a generic Republican guy who just happens to be freakishly tall?

I'll give a personal anecdote -- I currently live in Fairfax County, not Loudon County, but they're the county over. The school I coach at is a private school in Loudon most known for nationally ranked basketball and lacrosse teams. Our enrollment has exploded over the past two years to the point of us having to turn away the current Team USA U16 goalie because there wasn't room for him. It has gone from having to "recruit" to "not enough room at the inn" with future collegiate players for many of our sports teams. We now have to balance the top academic applicants that the Head of School wants vs. top recruits for my sport vs. top recruits for other sports. There are just literally not enough desks to go around.

Why? Parents unhappy with public school. LCPS always had very highly rated, well regarded schools. Now parents are pulling their kids out of public school in droves. It started with COVID mismanagement, and it has crescendoed into the "woke" school board issues. People want their little kids being taught how to read, write, and do math. They don't want them being taught propaganda about how white people are responsible for everything wrong with the world. Simple concept.

Second anecdote -- my mom, dad, brother, and myself are all either current or former Republicans. None of us voted for Trump in the last election. None of us voted for McAuliffe in this one. Add it up.

Thanks for sharing. Your anecdotes (IMO) are likely the prevalent reason VA broke Youngkin. But that doesn’t fit the narrative that every white person is racist…especially the “middle class suburbanite wine mom”. Trump is gone and the Dems need to move on from that or they will continue to lose…or worse…bring him back into the fray which none of us wants.

One positive about Twitter is that it never forgets. Both sides are dealing w/ their “published” hypocrisy. Right now The Lincoln Project is getting roasted for their grift. They finally got a Republican elected…LOL!”

“The most consistent theme in modern politics is change elections. 2006, 2008, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020…

No one has figured out how to be on the side of voters.”

Democratic party is dead in the age of data and uncovering the truth. It's a matter of time unless they change drastically.

Their policies are crippling and sick to the core, and you can't win with that in an age of awareness.

I think the Lincoln Project people are about to see their money disappear.

1. They present themselves as savvy politicL masterminds but really, they've just shown why no Republicans would hire them. They are simply bad at their jobs.

2. They are cool with grooming young men and boys.

3. Every GOP candidate is somehow Trump to them. If they selected actual Trumpy folks .. their shtick would sorta make sense. But when everyone is Trump, nobody is Trump.

On the bright side for them, they have enough cash to probably pay their back taxes that some of them owed lol

I think the everything and everyone is racist stigma will wear off more and more. Candidates still matter though. The GOP needs to pick someone like Youngkin who isn't a lightning rod.

USA Today writes an article about "people of color" winning elections across the country but didn't mention the VA Lt Gov or AG.

I'm not advocating for sending journos to the Gulag but if someone wants to put them on a train i won't get in the way.

Seriously?

Honest, accurate journalists are rarer than virgins in Ann Arbor. Journalism used to be an honorable, respected profession. Not any longer. There are still a few who try to do it the right way, but not many. Most, whether print or broadcast, have become propaganda mouthpieces who put agenda and beliefs above integrity and honesty. A free press is protected and given a lot of leeway in order to allow them to serve as the eyes, ears, and voice of the people. They've trashed that and have become nothing more than partisan hacks and the propaganda arm of one party or the other. Gitmo is better than they deserve.

It was surreal. I was watching TV with my wife last night and they ran nonstop ads that basically said "a vote for Youngkin is a vote for Trump"... and then you see an ad from Youngkin that says "Virginia is one of 13 states with a tax on groceries. I'm going to eliminate that." OK so one candidate is actually saying concrete things they want to do to help people, and the other is trying to scaremonger about a dude who doesn't currently hold political office. Which campaign seems better constructed to encourage people to vote?

Never mind all the shit Dems have pulled recently in Loudon County... look at the vote swing there versus the last election.

This is the heart of it. Just trying to scare people. CNN.com has been running multiple Trump articles daily for the last six months and most of them are usually the featured story. They don't think people can see through that? lol

This is hilarious. Inside source in the WH says the losses are because they're taking too long to implement change and need to move quicker. lol

Voters are "unhappy with inaction and nitpicking," source close to White House says

From CNN's Arlette Saenz

A source close to the White House argued the results in last night’s election showed that voters were expressing frustration with the lack of action in Washington and used the Democratic Party’s loss as a call to action on President Biden’s agenda.
“Voters were clear that they were unhappy with inaction and nitpicking,” the source said. “And Democrats widely agree that there is greater impetus to go ahead, faster, with bills that will be economic game-changers for middle class families and ensure the economy delivers for hard-working people in their daily lives, not just those at the top.”

“If voters are frustrated with inaction, the obvious response is to be more decisive and pass bills based on an agenda for the middle class that received a record-breaking 81 million votes last year,” the source added. “And there’s a strong consensus about that across the party. Doing less is plainly the opposite of what people want.”

LMAOOO that's gold.

The best thing I've seen so far is the New Jersey senator losing to a truck driver who spent $153 dollars.

The reason the truck driver ran? New Jersey denied his gun permit application. Spent like $65 at Dunkin and $90 on fliers and posters. Absolute KING.

They really appear to be learning. My guess is they know they're going to get walloped in 2022 and are just going to try and throw some hail mary crap between now and then.

I see sarcasm is not your strong suit lol.

Nobody actually wants them imprisoned.....unless....

Maybe Joy Reid and the other race-baiters who lost their minds last night, but sarcasm is hard.

Joy Reid? The lady who claimed time traveling hackers went into her blog posts and put homophobic stuff in them?

She doesn't deserve the comforts of Gitmo. Straight to Siberia.

I am amazed anyone is left in NJ to vote red - I thought they all moved to Florida and the Carolinas by now.

What got missed by Jemele and others is that Virginia also elected their first black Lieutenant Governor, Winsome Sears. Marine Corp veteran, immigrated from Haiti as a child. Had no idea who she was before today, I don't tend to follow politics outside my home state much, but she seems pretty cool.

Followers were almost all purged. McAuliff's campaign says the account doesn't belong to one of their staffers, that someone is impersonating him, and yet he was in control of it last Friday when he was furthering the "white supremacist" false flag photo op and a blue check VA Dem Consultant was trying to get him more followers the same day. Maybe he lost it over the weekend, who knows.

True but let’s not act like the Republican Party offers much more. That would be the equivalent of saying “ND’s OL is fixed!” but we all know some of that improvement came due to playing horrific defenses.

Remember it’s basically mid-term election season from now through next year. The opposition party always seems to have a rebound. Republicans need to distance themselves from Trump and start pushing the old guard out the door (virtually impossible as it may be). I’m convinced both parties will stick to the status quo in order to secure their power b/c that’s all they really care about. If either side truly cared about the direction of this country, they’d push for term limits IMO.
