RBG did not have a deep understanding of the Constitution. She had a deep understanding of her own political beliefs and used every single decision she was ever a part of to advance those beliefs.

LOL @ any liberal justice having a deep understanding of the Constitution! There is no 'deep understanding' of a living, breathing document that changes at your every whim!

Let's just call RBG what she was: she was an activist who ended up on America's highest court so she could legislate from the bench. She was an unelectable shrew. So rather than run for office, she pushed her agenda through the judicial system where she had no checks and balances.

Her judicial career was nothing but a political charade.

/thread on RBG

Her core belief was to make the constitution inclusive. When it was originally adopted it actually excluded more people than it protected. It left out anyone who wasn't a white male, specifically that half of the population that wasn't male, all blacks, all Native Americans ... I hardly think her efforts to make the constitution more inclusive is some kind of sinister agenda.

Not sure why Dems are so worked up about Roe vs. Wade and making it their rally point. It's been what 47 years since the decision and it's not been overturned yet.

I thought Republicans were the only ones that used scare tactics?! They said the same thing would happen if Kavanaugh was confirmed, yet here we are. Trump was going to launch nukes on day 1 too. I saw an ad from Biden yesterday that Trump was going to remove pre-existing conditions clause from Obamacare, yet Trump signed an executive order the same day to protect pre-existing conditions. Oops?! Yeah though, the left doesn't like to use scare tactics.

You mean the executive order that doesn’t amount to jack shit and is essentially a non binding piece of paper that any competent corporate attorney could whip their ass with in court? The GOP and Trump spent 3.5 years talking about repealing the ACA. They’re fucked if this issue sticks:

The ACA and pre-existing condition conversation are two different things. Trump wants to kill the ACA and still require coverage of pre-existing conditions. Dems want to make the two topics the same. They're not.

Trump was elected based on his promises for providing better insurance than the ACA and protecting chronic diseases. For years, especially preceding election times, Republican House members have introduced bills to do this, which aren't ever heard in Committees, which for the first two years were controlled by Reps. Dems have passed legislation for this but it goes nowhere in the Senate, while Reps pursue their legal case for ending ACA.

He ran on ending the ACA, and replacing it. It wasn't the only thing he ran on, and certainly wasn't the only reason why he was elected.

And as you probably know, Susan Collins, John McCain, and Lisa Murkowski shut the door on the plan by voting with Dems on what the senate introduced in 2017. After that, the Dems had the House.

The author points out further down the thread that this tech already exists and has been in place at certain jobs for at least a few years now. We just don't hear much about it yet because it's only affecting very poor and insecure workers at the moment.

MyAnalytics from Mircosoft tracks my productivity already lol, sends monthly updates about my "ability" to focus. I wonder when that information starts to be used by HR departments.

AI is a big topic in the IT field right now as it relates to automating processes like A/P & A/R, order processing. I get calls and emails daily on this subject.

Yep, what's hilarious is as a CPA you'd think I'm deathly afraid of AI wiping me out, but we've tried so much software packages to improve auditing processes and nothing does the job.

Ps. If you know of any good AI auditing software send me a PM LOL

Would love to help you out, but I haven't looked at any of them yet. We're probably 2-3 years out before I look at it as I've identified enough projects to keep things busy for a while.

I work in that field. Depends what type of audit, but Tugboat and Vanta are out there. A new startup, SecureFrame, is coming in too.

I wouldn't worry about your job getting wiped. Accounting folks usually have some decent brain function. Oddly enough, my dad chose his college based on their CPA passage rate. Never took the test, had never been an accountant, makes it rain fat stacks anyway lol.

Thanks for the suggestions, I don't think they fit us well as they're SOC 2 type systems from the look of it.

Dude, even the robots are bored by accounting. They'll leave that to the humans and take on the cool stuff like war games, VR porn, and bitcoin.

anyone see the disgraced Katie Hill's congressional Twitter pop off last night? Someone claiming to be a former staffer went on a rant about how she's as much a predator as she is a victim. Was genuinely amazing.

Was wild how media let her control the narrative when she resigned. All the focus was on her ex and being a victim of revenge porn without a deep dive into the actual reason she was forced to resign.

Yeah, she's one of the few people who I actually think did the smart thing in resigning how/when she did. Because she spun it as her being the victim, when the real scandal was her being a sexual predator and abusing power. That was the actual story then, and she has somehow managed to do a 100% image recovery by spinning it to her being the victim.

Most people, like Ralph Northam here in Virginia, are better off just telling everyone to go fuck themselves and riding it out. Instead of Ralph Northam being the "governor who resigned in disgrace after wearing blackface and/or KKK costume" he's going to end up being "governor who had that weird yearbook photo scandal but handled COVID with positive approval ratings".

Do we categorize anarchists on the far right or far left of the political spectrum or do we all just look at them like they are weird crazy folks?

I'm seeing some vids on twitter of a guy who allegedly is one of the ring leaders and dude has an anarchy flag in the background. Homeboy should have stuck to playing fallout lol.

All the far left crazies came out in force during the Trump days, I'm sure we'll see more far right crazies come out when Biden wins.

These particular guys sound straight up dumb.

Whitmer is straight up dumb too fwiw.

Yeah, just a bunch of dumb, former gamers, who watch too many Bruce Willis movies. This is almost funny, amirite?

What’s funny to me, absolutely laughable is how this is not in the Trump thread, because no individual other than the ones indicted is more culpable. But carry on guys!
