The short answer is because Keynes defined it that way.

The long answer is that several things/markets have to adjust before that $ is borrowed and invested.

I study the Austrian school, and why Keynes is wrong. Trust me, banks, in a stable economy will lend out as fast as they can, which is usually pretty fast. My dad's bank reigned in lending for a couple years due to instability, now in our area things have become much more stable and they can't write loans fast enough.

Same reason why companies and the 1% have been stockpiling cash. Instability brought on by government.

The long/short distinction isn't temporal...It's not, like, "a month". Rather, the short run, by definition, is that amount of time before markets have adjusted.

So with modern electronic interest rate and market processing the "short run" could last, in theory, a few miliseconds. If you're in a Japanese-like liquidity trap it could last over a decade in some people's opinion.

That's the whole point! His portrayal is what made Romney look like a monster and not some idiotic kid. The media made this out to be a "Lord of the Flies type incident" (poor piggy...) that has serious ramifications toward Romney's adult life because he attacked a gay student! Do you know how many stupid-as-hell pranks boys do in high school? Not even I am innocent of that! (Monster!) The media painted that as a serious incident with Romney attacking a gay person. They made the fact that he was gay for a reason, and I don't think he was ever gay..at least not openly.

I don't know how anyone could care about what a child did when he was like 15. (Don't we all say "Oh he's just a young kid" when we look at a recruit's mistake? "Oh I really hope he turns it around..." Well, Romney CLEARLY did. but we still tear him apart for an incident in 1965??) That deserves a 5,000-word front-page article?! It's literally incomprehensible on why this should even be worth mentioning---oh that's right, because witnesses (who happens to be a public school principal...I'm sure he's a huge conservative) said it was basically murder. GTFOOHWTS."

I am not in any way condoning it. It was reallllly stupid. He was a child, and the media of course ran with it for a reason: Romney looks bad. That's why we don't see stories ata ll of Obama being a stoner through high school and Occidental:

barack_obama_smoking_weed1.jpg

Or hear any conversation on how a President who is getting involved in the size of school lunches is a huge health hypocrite as he is a big smoker:

obama-smoking.jpg

Whatever makes Romney look bad gets a front page spot, any flaws in Obama are disregarded.

There's a huge ton so **** from Obama's speeches in think-tanks that just get disregarded. He's, ummmm, evolved. It's total bullshit.

I never said that the story matterred. I just started by pointing out that you were wrong in your initial statement and I have continued to point out how your other statements on this are incorrect and at times almost purposefully misleading. I don't think that what Romney did as a teenager really matters that much, but to act like this is the media attacking Romney is ****ing crazy. Every person who runs for President gets every little part of their life torn apart. Look at all the crazy stories about Obama. He is a muslim or he was born in Kenya. You want to see purposeful slander, that would be it. So before you run off and attack the media over this story, maybe you should look at the crazy **** that the other side says.

It will be interesting to see how much of an impact, either way, the debates can have.

In all honesty, I will be looking for work down in either New Zealand or Australia if Obama is reelected.

According to some of the latest polls, it could be do or die for either.

Anybody remember Bush Sr. looking at his watch?

Good. Don't the door hit you on your way out.

Ironically, my buddies from Australia feel the opposite of you.

You clearly missed my point then.

Can you show me some newspaper/magazine/online articles from legitimate sources talking about Obama mysteriously being a Muslim or being from Kenya?

That if Obama is reelected they are going to move to America?

No, they will just stay in Australia if Romney wins. As it is, they live about half the year here.

Also, if you think Australia will be more like a Romney America you're crazy. Obama would be a conservative in Australia.

Most watched News network: Fox News
Highest circulation for Newspapers: Wall Street Journal
Highest rated talk radio shows: Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck

****in liberal bias man. That is like Christopher Nolan complaining that superhero movies get no respect. I will tell you why Romney is getting all of this scrutiny, it is because he is running for president. That is what the media does. Did you forget Ayers, Rev Wright, Birth Certificate?

Another thing pointed out is that Romney's gaffes get more attention than Obama's. I agree Obama has had some gaffe's recently. The "bump in the road" is a perfect example. But when the Republican party and Fox news have been calling Obama the worst president since his inauguration, people stop listening. This is Hannity on Obama 100 days into office.

100 days and he is the devil?

6 weeks into his presidency he was called a failure by O'Reilly and Cavuto.

When you have spent the last 4 years saying what a screw up the guy is, people eventually tune you out. The right has become the boy who cried wolf.

No, there are 3 debates for Romney to catch up but he has to come out strong. People forget that Romney has almost unlimited time to practice for a debate while the President is running the country. Also, just sharing the stage with Obama will give Romney credibility. I find it funny that Romney has been practicing "zingers" in an attempt to capture a debate moment, so I will be paying attention to that.

Outside of being liberal, I love politics. I find races fascinating so I am interested to see Romney's approach since he is reeling at the moment. The Race is far from over but the first debate is just a feeling out stage. The next 2 will be much more telling. Unless someone completely botches it.

He hasn't been running anything but his campaign. He won't meet with Israel and has even missed daily intelligence briefings. DC has essentially been a waste of time, space and money for the past few months. Everyone is prepping for November. If anything, he's busy apologizing to Muslim radicals who kill Americans.

I never heard an apology from Obama. Ask bin ***** if he got an apology. Oh right, he got a bullet in his head instead. Romney would've stopped looking.
