Love Napolitano, id like to hear about everyones thoughts on QE3

I don't think this latest Fed action does anything more for the economy than the previous rounds did. It's just an added reminder of how screwed up the economy really is and that the U.S. is much closer to resembling Japan of the past two decades than is generally recognized.

It just perpetuates the inequality that is building up in the U.S. and it is a real long term risk for the health of the country.

No doubt Obama's game is over and Romney is going to be the next US president.
I am going to vote for him.

its better to have to deal with conflation than stagflation or inflation or deflation

Unfortunately, with the current policies, we will have to continue dealing with deflation and inflation in basic necessities/needs. Incredible consequences have been felt across the world in recent years with the U.S. slowly but surely being affected.

Huh? Are we going to have to deal with deflation (dollar gains value relative to price of goods/services) or inflation (goods/services become more expensive relative to dollar)? Can't be both... unless some things deflate and others inflate, but that's more a reflection of shifting patterns of supply and demand than it is of inflation or deflation. I guess stagflation could be seen as both, but not really.

Odd Poll. A) Socialist B) Socialist or C) Other....... Think I will pick other. Two main contenders support NDAA, Patriot Act, Bank Bailouts, Auto Bailouts, Healthcare Mandates, Federal Reserve Scheme, TSA, DHS, etc etc etc. The list goes on and on. For me, I honest to God am probably going to write in "No Thanks" if a 3rd party candidate is not allowed in the debates, which wont happen b/c Perot scared the hell out of the powers that be in 1992.

But anyways, back to football. GO IRISH!

The exact point of this sub-forum is for topics completely unrelated to ND/ND Football. So this thread, while possibly considered inflammatory and "controversial", completely belongs here. And while I personally may feel like threads like this are somewhat useless, as by this point in the election cycle everyone has their mind made up for their own personal reasons, so getting into arguments about "here's why I am voting for [x], or here's why I hate [x]" are pretty pointless, as nobody is going to change their mind as a result. But regardless, this thread is perfectly fine where it is. If you don't want to discuss politics, don't click on the thread. It's obviously a political thread from the title. So why you even came in here if you didn't want to discuss politics is beyond me.

You're right this thread has no place for football because it's a political discussion in the Lep Lounge. The Lounge was set up 7 years ago so people could discuss non-football topics without bothering the football fans. Why don't you show them the same curtesy.

If you keep taunting the mods, you may get what you're asking for.

Hey I know! (First of all Quintastic I really love your [X]! That is class!) Let us change this poll as to who would vote for either one of the candidates for President of the United States over Jack Swarbrick?

Jack is my man!

So what does everyone think of that Romney video that came out, where he praises China's working conditions and says that 47% of Americans, Obama voters, are government moochers?

Haven't seen that one. I did hear about an article in which the Chinese are a little taken a back and confused about Romeny's sudden stand on China, especially with the close relationship they have had with him in the past.

Romney is cooked.

The only thing that worries me is the incredible amount of PAC money the GOP has and will spend on TV ads in battleground states. From what I have heard they have bought the month of October...they will be throwing everything and the kitchen sink at President Obama, I hope people will not be swayed by carefully packaged crap.
