Just saw a meme and can't locate it right now.

Rush Limbaugh, Kim Davis, Newt Gingrich, and Donald Trump have been married 14 times.

All of them are for "traditional marriage."

It's easy to talk the talk to fire up the base, but Limbaugh, Davis, Gingrich, and Trump are just a few who have failed to walk the walk. Lead by example or don't lead at all.

Sounds like they (or their former spouses) don't favor the same sex marriage.

Right on. They're so opposed to same sex marriage that they have gotten straight married several times. Modeling behaviors.

My comment wasn't gender specific, I was referring to "the same sex" within a monogomus marriage. It was a staple in Jay Leno's monologues.

Let me try to bring a little positivity into this thread. I was at a big high school football game last night. It was 9/11. Both student sections were waving a flag and both student sections randomly chanted "USA!" throughout the game.

There is hope.

Alabama Town Considers Banning Short-Shorts, Short Dresses, Baggy Pants - Top Stories - wztv

An Alabama town is on the verge of passing an ordinance banning saggy pants and in an effort to be equal to all, they might propose another ordinance banning short-shorts and short dresses for girls.

As reported by the Alex City Outlook, council member Stephanie Kelley says she wants to make sure the ordinance is gender-equal. “I think for the girls, with these shorts up so high looking like under garments and dresses so short, I don’t want us to be showing favoritism.”

The original ordinance seeking to ban saggy pants on boys was cited by one council member as being a matter of "respect" and added he knew "God would not go around with his pants down" after praying on the matter.

Dadeville is located to the northeast of Montgomery, Alabama.

These Oath Keepers are trouble makers who won't be satisfied until they get to shoot someone.

Exactly. GQ had a great story about the oath keepers at the Bundy ranch and almost everyone the guy talked to had a chubby for the idea of shooting a couple Feds before going down in a blaze of glory.

Yep. He didn't say anything that was out of line with progressives.

I am very interested to know if attendance was compulsory like when Cruz was there versus him many kids were.there on their own.

ALEA to begin phasing out driver license offices; 33 to close Oct. 1 | AL.com

By March of next year Alabama might be down to just 4 offices in 4 areas to issue Driver's Licenses. They also have a strict voter ID law. Smart.

According to ALEA, these closures will cause many residents to drive more than an hour to reach a driver license office and will substantially increase the wait times for services.

By March 1, only the driver license offices in Huntsville, Birmingham, Montgomery and Mobile will be operational.

An oldie in anticipation of the GOP debate tonight:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/blog...-wont-walk-away-from-the-iran-deal-heres-why/

There's going to be a lot of huffing and puffing about the Iran deal but nobody on that stage will back away from it if they're put in charge.

well the only people who have a chance to win the election won't rip it up, per se. Reality is, its more damaging to abandon a shitty deal at this point...better to look for violations and respond. But people need to know the Soviets and China will be involved from a business and strategic perspective, so "snap back" as presented is not a reality.

While I kind of agree with the bold, I think it is also important to note that many European already want to end the sanctions against Iran. That is why a deal is important (unless you are in the attack Iran fan group). The sanctions as they currently exist are about to crumble one way or another.

Not necessarily. The Egyptians, The Zulu, the Moors, the Romans were not a "race" of people. Some civilizations were founded on nationalistic principals, others religious, some on tribal identity, some a mixture of all kinds of things. All were founded on some notion of superiority but it did not always include "race" as we view it in modern terms. One of the founding principals of the US was the notion of a divine racial superiority.

Alabama has roughly 4 million people in state with a drivers license. Obviously not all expire on the same day, but if it was bad before to wait in live at the DMV, can you imagine what it will be like now???

Also with the voter ID law....

I support a voter ID law in theory, but in principal when it is executed like that.... nope nope nope. Like Jayhawk said, it's a poll tax.
