Just random news on my news feed this morning....

California bill would require gender neutral sections in department stores

https://www.politico.com/states/cal...neutral-sections-in-department-stores-1263029

A mister no more: Mr. Potato Head goes gender neutral

https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/mister-mr-potato-head-gender-neutral-76111309

Demi Lovato Comes Out Against Gender Reveal Parties: ‘There Are Boys With Vaginas And Girls With Penises’

https://www.dailywire.com/news/demi...-are-boys-with-vaginas-and-girls-with-penises

If this sort of loony nonsense wasn't starting to cause actual problems with businesses, education, culture and personal lives, it would be funny and amusing. It's like an SNL parody made real.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">"Amen" is a Biblical Hebrew word: אמן. It is a word simply meaning "may it be so." It has nothing to do with the word "man" or "woman" because it is FROM HEBREW. This is some of the dumbest s*** I have ever seen in my life. <a href="https://t.co/O4JhcHwywv">https://t.co/O4JhcHwywv</a></p>— Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) <a href="https://twitter.com/benshapiro/status/1345902894063693832?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 4, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

So cringe. And Democrats wonder why their messaging doesn't work for normal people.

EDIT: Also, similarly, the Latinx can fuck right off. Don't know a single Latino/Hispanic person who doesn't eye roll when they hear this ridiculous term manufactured by woke white people.

Thank you. This is the dumbest thing ever.

Where do they come up with this crap?

Emma, "Oh my God Cheryl. I just realized $14.92 is the same as 1492. "
Cheryl, "What does that mean?"
Emma, "Cheryl, 1492 is when we came to this country, invited the native inhabitants to dinner, then murdered them!"
Cheryl, "OMG Emma, you're right. How could I have not seen this?"

What is our current position on FATSHAMING. I have some expertise in this field of human endeavor.

I am not posting this, mind you, but merely posing a hypothetical, as I see that Fat Charley Weis has tried to inveigle his way onto the MFMF bandwagon.

If I were, hypothetically, to post "Look you two ass Jabba the Hutt Haystacks Calhoun (its generational) overweaning clown who drove off David Nelson and now you are trying to qualify for "MY 600 pound life"
you and your slimy lipped, greasy disloyalty for the $20 mill you stole from alma mater under false pretenses and you can step off the train anytime."

Why don't you have a circular er, uh, discussion with Jon Tenuta and Bill Lewis"

Here's your SIGN:

YOU you obese overcarbed undisiciplined clown, you LOST
AT HOME
In ND Stadium
IN one year

to
UCONN
Syracuse
NAVY

in Football. ND football, not hoops!

Go see Belichick, oh I forgot, he wants NOTNING to do with you.

Nice job in Lawrence, Fatso>"

Hypothetically, is such a post permissible?

I don't see the problem. Pretty classy post. Did we overpay Weis? Yeah, and that's on Kevin White. Is the man overweight? Yeah, but why would we discuss that, it's irrelevant. There were a lot of ups and downs, he may not have panned out in the end, but he didn't leave the cupboard bare for Kelly when Weis left. I choose to remember the good times and forget 2007 (Some of which was due to a lack of leadership and poor recruiting from Ty that caught up with us). I don't get the fat shaming thing.

I don't think he was a good coach but he loves ND and seems like a good man. Being cruel against a jolly guy who loved ND on something that is likely genetic is shameless.

pbosed to listen to Ross.

Weis ran David Nelson off and that is an incredible story of disloyalty. I assume you know the details, if not I can document.

He screwed up the Notre Dame program. HIs trifecta AT HOME against Syracuse, Navy and Uconn began in November '08 and concluded in November '09.

And he looted the treasury. Did he have a legal, binding contract to take the money. Absolutely. But that's not the way you treat your "mother."

I don't trust Weis. I didn't when he was hired, and I don't now. that is not a legal verdict, nor a syllogism.

It is visceral but authentic.

I don't like draft dodgers, I don't like traitors and I DESPISE how much money that SLOB took from Notre Dame. Just do the math. Translate his severance pay to the number of scholarships. it could have paid for.

You can give him a pass. I will not.

Uhhh...a couple things here, elder statesman.

1) The head coach's salary, no matter who it is, doesn't impact the number of scholarships. There's a cap on scholarships in every sport.

2) If you're mad about what Charlie Weis made, take that beef to the AD who was Kevin White. He did the deal.

3) His tweet about Marcus Freeman was classy and supportive, especially as a ND alum.

4) In his last year at ND, ND had a top 10 offense but the defense was terrible and the team was out of shape. He was a brilliant offensive coach who didn't know how to be a college head coach. He actually improved the program after Ty Willingham, but wasn't good enough overall.

5) I listen to his NFL radio show from time to time, and he's highly respected there by players and coaches. You can tell when those guys join the show for interviews.

6) If you want to criticize his performance as coach at ND, fire away. Going after the guy's physical appearance, no matter who we're talking about, is garbage and makes you sound like a 3rd grader.

Do better.

I'm not particularly mad at Weis for the money. If anyone is to blame it's his agent and Kevin White. The agent did his job, he was very good at it obviously based on Weis' contracts at ND and Kansas. White got snowballed...although in hindsight maybe all the hype got to him much like the huge social media push that Freeman got. At what point are your hands tied as AD? In any case Weis was obviously not a great HC, but he's still an alumni and seems to care for the university. Not his fault he got overpaid, he recruited hard and wasn't out golfing. His biggest problem probably was the misses on defense, both in recruitment and staff.

I am not saying you are wrong, but let me initiate a discussion on "trust."

Most say that "love" is the ultimate outlaw. I am not sure. I believe, however that "trust" is the ultimate outlaw.

It comes and goes like a sparrow on a railing. It arrives when comfortable, and leaves on its own.

And when I speak of "trust" here, I am not speaking about a rational, fact-based, syllogistic, legalistic argument.

It is visceral, organic, natural.

I don't trust Weis. And I absolutely do not trust Jenkins and Swarbrick. Again, viscerally, not evidence based.

But when I get time, I will document one thing. the vile incident with David Nelson. It enrages me to this day (and on this second Sunday of Advent, with the celebration of the birth of Jesus the Christ, three weeks away, I am aware of the hypocrisy, Christianly, of being "enraged" Ergo, mea culpa.

So when I take the grenade out of my mouth I will be back to talk of David Nelson.

I Do think, as you do that White got rolled, just as Swarbrick did this week. But I liked the result when Swarbrick got rolled.
Does that make me a hypocrite? Probably.

I'll just say I really hope it works out for Freeman, Swarbrick was certainly backed between a rock and a hard place. I would have made the same choice he did, and Freeman seems like a super outstanding dude and family man which is why I want him to just knock it out of the park. Nothing would make me happier if he breaks every record and wins more championships than Knute, Leahy, and Ara combined. No comment on the rest, I haven't heard anything about the Nelson stuff so have no idea what you're referencing.

two things

I TRUST you (I trust a lot of people with whom I disagree)
For me, unequivocally and unabashedly, I would have rather have you make the choice than Swarbrick. And here, I am as serious as a heart attack.

I will try to detail the treason regarding Nelson over the weekend.

Okay, here is the David Nelson story. And I am going to ask you a question that you should NOT answer in public, only to yourself:

do you have teenagers
do you coach teenagers
do you teach teenagers
do you manage or employ teenagers

Do teenagers who are GOOD kids occasionally say monumentally silly but correctable things.

Now to the teenager David Nelson.

Tall drink of water from North Texas, might have been Wichita Falls

6'5" Receiver.

Committed to willingham when he was coach. Maintained hiw commitment when your boy Weis became coach.

Weis, even after the incredibly stupid, arrogant, hubris filled "Schematic Advantage" quote and while he was still working for Belichick RATHER THAN GETTING himself to South Bend,
contacted Nelson

Nelson still a teenager here,

So they're chatting and your boy Chuckie too much cheese said he's staying with the Patriots through the playoffs.

Dave, the teenager said "Well, I hope you lose so you can get to Notre Dame and we can get started."

Charley pulled his scholarship.

That is treason against Notre Dame. Directed verdict.

David Nelson then, distraught, just a teenager in North Texas needed a nest.
Urban Meyer gave him one.

David Nelson has a national championship ring.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_...(wide_receiver)

charley has none, and robbed Notre Dame in the process

In the same season when David Nelson was winning his National Championship Ring, your boy Cholly added these gems to his glittering resume

Losing by shutout to Boston freakiun' college, 17-0

Getting rolled at home by the mighty Orange of Syracuse, 24-23
losing to USC 38-3 after a typical FatboyFat slow start, trailing Troy 31-0 after three quarters.

Greedy fat disgarce who screwed over his alma mater.

That's what you're raising a big stink about?! I had no idea who Nelson was, I expected him to be a Heisman candidate at Florida. Yeah, he got a ring, but his best year was a 291 yard season his Senior year. He wasn't exactly a Heisman that we let slip through our fingers. Did Charlie goof the recruitment? Yeah, but I doubt Weis' career would have been saved had Nelson decided to stick with his commitment. For one, Weis ended up with three very good receivers in Samardzija, Stovall, and McKnight in '05. Hell, even Matt freakin' Shelton had more receptions and yards than Nelson ever did that year and he was the 4th best WR. I don't even know what to say at this point. You're holding a grudge against Weis over some miscommunication from 16 years ago? There's certainly reasons not to like the guy, but this seems like a weird hill to die on.

Nelson committed to Willingham, neither party was beholden to keep that scholarship once he was fired. Do coaches often honor these scholarships anyway? Yeah, but many move on to other players too or decide it isn't a good fit. Happens all the time. One pulled scholly certainly isn't damning character assassination.

I want every ND grad to succeed at the next level like anyone else, but I could care less that Nelson had some good NFL stats after having a rather quiet college career. It's great he did well at the NFL level, but it's not like we were working with poor WR talent. Samardzija, Stovall, and McKnight were all talented and put up big numbers during that time. Including Nelson wasn't going to suddenly make us a championship team.

ND was Weis' alma mater too, remember? You really think he stole from it? His agent set it up, Kevin White signed the contract extension, and would you turn down millions if it was on the table? No, I'm sure you're the virtuous good boy that would coach for pennies at ND because you love it so much.

Don't pretend you know everything that goes on behind closed doors. Maybe Nelson says his recruitment was dropped because of the comment he made. Maybe the new staff didn't see him in that class or had other reasons to let him go. Isiah McKenzie famously said he turned down ND because he was told no premarital sex was allowed on campus, when in reality we know he was not a take because grades were the issue. All you know is one side of the story, and quite frankly you've built this thing up like some kind of damning event when in reality it's small potatoes. The only thing I can glean from this is you probably knew Nelson and that's why you've taken this thing so personally.

Fatso's frivolous lawsuit

But that's only his second-worst medical story. Not long after the Patriots beat the Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI, Weis watched a DVD of the game and couldn't stand how fat he looked. He had been big since he was a child -- he couldn't play Pop Warner football because he was over the weight limit -- but he had eaten his way to somewhere around 350 pounds. So he decided to have gastric-bypass surgery. He scheduled the surgery for June 2002. The only two people Weis told about it were Maura and Brady. (He told Belichick he was having a "stomach procedure.") The surgery went bad. Doctors couldn't stop his internal bleeding, and he got an infection and fell into a coma. A priest gave him last rites. Even after recovering, he had nerve damage that led to partial loss of feeling in both feet, another reason he clomps when he walks.

He sued his surgeons at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. The first trial ended in a mistrial when the surgeons rushed to help a juror who collapsed. In the second trial, the jury found in favor of the surgeons. Their lawyers had argued that Weis pushed them to shorten the pre-op prep work so he could get the surgery done faster.

pretty sure B&F went off on the importance of using FACTS and how his immigrant family used corporal punishment for those who made misrepresentations.

I dont think therapy will help.
