Great example of a carefully curated tweet to push a narrative.
Give me a break with this nonsense. She was one of the loudest voices in the country for defunding the police, and she and her city got exactly the result you'd expect after doing so. Now she's whining about the results she caused. This is what happens when you pander instead of lead. It's what happens when you make decisions emotionally instead of intellectually. It's what happens when you govern by polls instead of by reason. She should at least accept full responsibility for her stupidity and resign.

Lol, always with the emotion and not the facts.

The tweet didn't mention the murder rate in 2022, why? Because it was flat. Oh well, doesn't help the narrative.
The tweet didn't mention any other context except for attributing her policies, which apparently when discussed in August impacted the entire year (lol). In 2020 murder rates increased by 30% nationally compared to 20% in San Francisco, not mentioned. Oh well, doesn't help the narrative.
The tweet didn't mention historical context for San Francisco homicide rates, which are still much lower now than it was as recently as the '00s. Oh well, doesn't help the narrative.
The tweet didn't mention any other comparisons for context, for example Alabama has nearly twice as high a murder rate. Oh well, doesn't fit the narrative.

I look forward to your ranting about the policies and lack of accountability in places like Alabama which apparently is filled with pandering stupid people who should resign.

Are you aware that there's more to crime than just murder? If nothing is wrong and everything is just fine in SF, then what is she complaining about and begging for more police for? A number of areas in SF have become open air drug markets with drugs sold and used openly, and a death rate from overdoses of almost two per day on average.

How many videos do you need to see of large, organized smash and grab attacks on retailers? What about the robberies, burglaries, and other thefts to support the drug habits of those denizens of the open air drug markets? What about the constant shitting in the streets and on the sidewalks from the homeless and drug addicts? Have you SEEN much of San Fransisco in recent years? It went from one of the most beautiful cities in the world to a literal shithole.

San Fran is a beautiful city and there's a reason it's world class city and the cost of living is so high. San Fran's peers are London/Paris/Madrid/Tokyo etc.

Did she, or did she not contribute significantly to the rise in crime, homeless people shitting in the streets, and drug issues (including 50-60 overdose deaths per month) in San Fransisco by voting to defund the police? Do you not see the irony of her being a vocal advocate and participant in the defund the police movement, then only a couple of years later begging for more officers and help with the mushrooming crime problem she created? Stop defending bad policies. Stop defending and spinning for those who enact bad policies. This is why you keep getting these results.

Lol, I'm not defending anything. I'm pointing out what that carefully curated tweet is using to push a narrative. Some might even call it arguing in bad faith, which I've been assured on this board is something we should oppose.

But keep cranking out those strawmen, I'm sure Mayberry's brightest has plenty of unique names for each and every one.

There's nothing curated or twisted or misrepresented here. She was a strong proponent of defunding the police. It was a stupid, short-sighted, emotional response that was done to pander to a demographic and because at that time, it polled well in her area. That it made no sense and anyone with a brain could've told her it would be a disaster didn't factor into the equation for her. Now, 3 years later, she has a total mess on her hands and is begging for help. You know, help to fix the problem that SHE helped create. That's not spin. That's not curating. That's pointing out that an idiot made an idiot decision, pushed an idiot idea, got the expected idiot results, and is now acting like an idiot begging for others to clean up the mess she made.

Anything from you to deflect from that fact is absolutely indeed defending her and her huge gaffe. Stop making excuses and spinning and protecting politicians from the consequences of such idiotic ideas. YOU'RE the problem. You vote for these sort of nitwits and defend them when they, well, behave like what they are. Protecting stupid people, whether they're politicians or the voters who voted for them, from the consequences of their decisions is how you keep getting people like this in office. Stop it. Stop defending them. Stop spinning for them. Stop deflecting the justified criticism of them. Stop voting for them. Stop furthering this sort of nonsense. Just stop.

Good gracious what an emotional mess you are today. The tweet was about homicides. That's what I responded to.

Are you ok?

Stop with the silly "you're emotional" nonsense. It's a very poor attempt on your part to avoid the issue being discussed and the points I made. Spinning, intentionally misunderstanding, deflection, and dodging don't change the fact defunding the police has been a disaster, and the people who vote for such short-sighted, pandering politicians are the problem.

Whole Foods announced they are closing their flagship SF store after only 1 yr in operation due to concerns for employee safety. 65K Sq ft store. This is a problem folks. All of this From the Fortune Magazine article including this nugget:

Retail theft has been a growing problem in San Francisco, with a 23% increase in property crimes from 2020 to 2022, according to the San Francisco Police Department. (Violent crime numbers are up 8%.)

A quick search of her history, I see she supported Kamala Harris and Bloomberg for president. So not exactly the beacons of progressive policies. I see she stopped a non-profit from opening a supervised drug use site as well. Seems like a milk toast liberal who instantly becomes a "woke" target for some because she's black and a woman. She's likely better than most options but strikes me as a typical liberal type who only uses progressive rhetoric but doesn't actually follow through on it.

At the end of the day, she didn't defund the police and crime is not an issue in San Francisco. Of course, would be open to seeing any data that supports the counter.

In theory, you could argue SOME of the defund police stuff made some logical sense. Reduce the Police budget by a certain amount and give it to Mental Health professionals that would be given power to handle mental crisis situations instead of the police. Makes some sense idealistically. Not sure if it can be totally pulled off practically. I'm sure there were other idealistic proposals that made theoretical sense.

The real problem with the defund the police stuff was that it totally villainized Police Officers. Not so shockingly ...... lots of police officers retired or quit. Lots of difficulty in finding new candidates. All of this results in tons of required overtime for the police officers that remain which hammers City budgets. The temporary overtime becomes permanent overtime with no end in sight. Some of the police officers that were trying to stick it out eventually get burned out because of the required overtime and so they quit. It seems like you almost enter a death spiral.

I didn't ask you about any of that. I asked what, if everything is fine as you claim, is she begging for law enforcement help for.

Because she's a milk toast liberal who's going to pander to whichever voices are the loudest? Idk go nuts have at her, I won't lose sleep over someone who got support for being pro-defunding and then didn't actually follow through on it.

But, more importantly, your stance of defunding the police and rampant crime are just outright wrong. lol.

Your points have literally nothing to do with the point I made. You are all but hyperventilating over issues rattling around in your own head. It's bizarre. I hope you get well soon.

Police didn’t need to to be defunded. They need to be demilitarized.

I'll take this as acknowledging that San Fran isn't a crime haven and didn't defund the police.
Your constant misunderstanding of others' posts, your inability to give a direct answer to any question, the silly ideas you routinely put forth, and the fact that, by your own admission, you think this

1681255910872.png

is as much a real woman as this

1681256020036.png

would strongly indicate that any judgment you make about what I acknowledge is highly unlikely to be correct.
